Key Lime pie......

If she were in Key West I'd say at Shirley's place! I made the recipe she so VERY KINDLY sent along with a bunch of material on Key West over the holidays and it is TO DIE FOR!

I asked a coworker this same question when I booked my western trip. She goes to Key West often. She said Crabby Dick's or Conch Republic. Conch Republic has better food if you want to eat a meal there, but Crabby's pie is a little better. I plan on going to Conch Republic-she said you can see all the fishing boats there, etc.

When I went on our first DCL cruise (4 day) in 2000 they served the best key lime pie I ever had tasted. When we cruised again in 2001 on the Eastern I was eagerly anticipating this pie again but they did not have it! I was very disappointed...wonder where they got it and why they stopped serving it???

Hey Key Lime lovers,
First off anytime anyone wants me to make them a real Key Lime pie by real Key West conchs, all you have to do is let me know and I will make sure I make it for you - even take it over to the hotel to share with other cruisers - next - I love the conch Republic Restaurant - I go there with my family when we are are down there - the best key lime pie I have found is on the corner of Fritzpatrick and Front street at the Roof Top Restaurant - to get a real one made by real conchs, you have to go to Ms B's on Bertha Street where many old locals hang out -
The receipe is very simple and when I go to Key West, will pick up the Key Lime juice - if anyone wants any, just let me know and will pick it up for you - it is called Joe and Nellie's Key Lime juice)
Short story when I was a single mom in Key West, mr Joe was not only an accountant but our next door neightbor and I worked for him for quite sometime - my mom use to help make the Key Lime pies with him and his family as a passtime it caught on and even tho they have passed on, the receipe goes on)
Anyone interested, just drop me a note.
Hugssssss from a warming up Florida
Always
Shirley

Key Lime Pie wasn't on the menu when we were on the Wonder in January, but it was available from room service! Just ask what the desserts are that day. I was able to get it on two different nights (oink).
