As Han Solo says in Star Wars, here’s where the fun begins …

Let’s face it we all want to go to the Magic Kingdom, it’s the best place where the Disney Magic rules supreme, and this moment had finally been reached.

Today would be a military exercise to tackle The Magic Kingdom on Labour Day, but we have the help of Tour Guide Mike.

We were up at 6.30 and out the room by 7.00, ready for breakfast at POP, we re used the refillable mugs, and we had breakfast, I had the lovely chocolate croissants, which always sell out by the afternoon, shame really. As the gang were finishing off breakfast, I made an ADR for tomorrow as it was the wife’s birthday, for which she got a badge from the CM too.

Now as you go out POP, there are signs small, but they are there, telling you where to go, now this trip, I seemed not to be paying attention while driving of such things, anyway at the end, I took the wrong turn, and ended up out of WDW. One U turn later and was driving back in, and straight down to the MK. We reached the car park by about 7.40, ready to get to the TTC, we were so early, that there was no tram to the TTC, but it was quicker to walk anyway.

I love the monorail, I just love it, we were first up the ramp, and I asked the CM, if we could ride at the front of the Monorail, as it was the wife’s birthday tomorrow. The wife loves trains so for her it would be a treat, as well for me. We got in the front of the next one, and I placed the Camcorder at the front, and taped the entire journey thru to the MK, it was brilliant. The CM was quiet but it didn’t matter, it was a brilliant start to the day.

The new building next to the Contemporary was very impressive. We were let thru the turnstile about 8.15, to reach the rope that’s used to stop you going under the rail road bridge. We waited there until 9, and then we were let in down Main Street. Brilliant, it looks so fresh still, the Halloween decorations were out, the smell was lovely, of candy and pop corn, but onwards we went to Tomorrow land.

Here on the bridge we had another rope drop, and when it drops you follow the CM’s to the ride you want first, your not allowed to go past them, but you follow the, and everyone was going to Space Mountain. We had 3 goes on SM, I love it, love the queue area to the ride and the asteroids and shooting stars in the main area, however ….

You know when your getting old when the pick up point of the SM car going up the ride hurts your back!! I thought I was going to need hospital, so on the second go I made sure I sat forward.

So after SM, it was Buzz Lightyear, off over to Splash Mountain, a couple of rides on Big Thunder Mountain, the Pirates of the Caribbean, picture with Woody and Jessie, on the way, then back to the Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, PhilharMagic, it’s a Small World. All of this was completed by lunch time at 12. Incredible.

We ate at Cosmic Rays, it was so empty, we got seats at the window area, and ate while we watched the MK world go by. We then did Carousel of Progress (mainly for the air con) and Monsters Inc Laughter Floor (Very Funny).

Meanwhile, I am taking video, and picture of everything, eating ice creams, and drinking diet coke like its going out of fashion. At bout 2.30, we decided to leave and go back to POP for some pool time, and we would be back later for the Wishes Fireworks.

Back at POP, kids went to the pool, and I decided to take a look at our resort, and some pics of our resort, as well as the other half of POP that was never finished, hope you like the pics.

The kids took a wrong turn, returns to their room, and found another Diser had left a signing board on their room door, so we signed it as fellow Disers. !

We went back to the MK in the evening for wishes, but we took the resort bus, which was very convenient, waiting outside POP is not bad at all. We then picked our place to watch the fireworks, on the Tomorrow Land bridge and again its was excellent.

We then returned to POP, via the bus, which was absolutely packed. A very long day and something I had forgotten, which was that people did not have my stamina to keep going, hour after hour. The kids and the wife were tired in the afternoon, and so to go back and have time out was a very wise move.

Another great day Kev. I taped the whole of the EPCOT loop from the front of the monorail last year and this year I want to get both the MK loops.

You also did two of my favourites - a meal at Cosmic Rays and Wishes from the Tomorrowland bridge.

I'm really enjoying your trip report! I stayed at POP 2 years ago and think those buildings that they never completed look very eerie!

Excellent Day:goodvibes

Are these pictures taken with your Canon camera, we are after a new camera and I don't have a clue where to start, your pictures are excellent and really clear - loving the reports by the way.

Yep, Canon 350D SLR, but they are only at 4 Mp, the camera normally does 8 Mp, but I wanted to get more on the memory card, so I took at 4, however, I took 1500, and the 4 Gb memory card was 2/3 full. I took a spare 4 and 2 Gb but never used them....

Great camera but I must admit, I am not one for reading manuals so the night photos were more luck than judgement, but my daughter has the same one and has learned to use it and her night time results have been outstanding, but for point and shoot it brilliant, and on sport mode, can take 3 pics a second !

Thanks for the camera info Kevin, I'll pass it onto DH. All I can do is point and click but I still manage to mess that up :rotfl2:

I find space mountain so bumpy that I can only go on once a trip!

I enjoyed your report and photos. I am right in thinking you are a Lost fan with that black teeshirt you are wearing?
