Keurig

Does anyone else wish DVC would put Keurigs in the rooms?

Yes!!!! But then they'd just raise my dues. Which I guess I wouldn't mind, but it's cheaper for me to just bring my own mini Keurig. But it sure would be nice. :)

We bought a mini Keurig with a travel case to bring with us but it's such a PITA to use we actually use the coffee makers they provide. But maybe that's just us.

The full size Keurigs are awesome but not sure what it would do to our MFs if they put them in all the villas.

We can't drink drip coffee. I bring a mini espresso machine.

I really don't care for Keurig/pod type machines at all. When wanting several cups for a group breakfast, they are slower than one large coffee pot, and rather than being able to sit around a table and relax, with the pot of coffee sitting where everyone can reach it...someone always has to get up and leave the table, stand at the counter, and wait on a refill. Every hotel that I've stayed at that has Keurig machines, I've had to get a replacement because the one in the room didn't work properly. Guests are notoriously hard on hotel room items, think of how many expensive Keurig machines would need to be replaced, either through damage or theft, at the expense of dues.

I would argue that point with you ;) I'd love to have a "coffee pod-off" with you one day. I bet I could get 10 cups brewed, if not faster, at least as fast as it takes one whole pot to brew.

And... everyone can have whatever they want, like flavored, decaf, regular, bold... etc. ;)

we put a keurig in our owner's locker and it's been awesome! love some good coffee before our park days begin :)

Am not a coffee drinker, so I really would rather not pay for it with my MFs :)

Do you guys really think that adding Keurigs would increase MF? C'mon. Let's get real.

First of all, the stores get to sell the pods at a buck-and-a-half to a buck-seventy-five a piece or $15-17/box. It is a license to STEAL money for the resort stores.

Secondarily, the cost would be so insignificant in the scheme of MFs that you couldn't find it to save your lives. Besides, I'd be surprised if P&R wouldn't eat the cost just to derive the profits from the sale of the pods. Since we are DVC, I'm sure we'd pay for them. Why? Because they CAN make us, but you get my point.

Would be awesome, but we have one we travel with. We do enjoy not having not to drag ours out when we visit the Universal Resorts as they have one in their rooms. We do bring our own kcups.

I'm a NO vote on the Keurig question preferring the traditional coffee pot. However, I'm clearly in the "bring your own' school for preferred kitchen appliances. I'm currently at VGC and enjoying the many appliances we brought: Vitamix, Omega 8005 Nutrician Center (juicer), rice cooker (steamer and other uses), electric kettle, etc. we've used them all this trip!

Since when does having a Keurig in the room PRECLUDE having a regular coffee maker too?

Everybody seems to always post as if they're somehow mutually exclusive or something and you can't, or wouldn't, have both. :confused3

My Bunn makes 10 cups within 5 minutes.

LOVE our Vitamix. If we drove we would so bring ours along. Unfortunately its too big and heavy to bring with when we fly.

Vote me in as a no on Keurig. At the rate these things fail when used well by one owner, I can't imagine the replacement costs associated with them being used by many all the time.

I don't want my dues going up to start replaceing them. The regular coffee maker works just fine. And, since they only give you 2 days worth of coffee anyway, you either have to bring your own coffee or K-cups, so I'm find if it's bringing regualr coffee.

Besides, K-cups aren't recyclable, goes against the big Disney recycle push.
I guess they could get a Vue cup maker, but I'd still say no.

No for us thanks. We like making one pot in the morning and that's it. Individual cups would be annoying and time consuming to us. It might be nice though if they had them available to rent for a small fee ($2-3 a day) for those that want though.

No from me on the Keurig as well. I am a coffee drinker and former owner of a Keurig which I donated to charity after about 6 months of use. Even as the sole coffee drinker in my house it just couldn't make coffee the way I like it. I find the current pot in the villas fine and I bring my own coffee.

No, I would not like DVC to place Keurigs in the villas. I am not a Keurig fan. I prefer the regular 12 cup drip coffee maker.
