Keurig

It's really quite odd to see all the Keurig haters come out in this thread. There have been several threads over the past couple of years with many people expressing their immense satisfaction with the Keurig and how they wished that DVC had them in the resorts.

I just find it odd seeing how many of those there have been over the last few months and yet very few of them have shown up here.

Just an observation.

I vote for keurig. We love it. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and you can always use the coffee of your choice. You don't have to use the plastic cups.

To those of you who travel with your Keurigs, which model do you use? We have the platinum and that seems like itd be impossible to bring along.

I bought a Mini Keurig about a year ago and use it on our trips to WDW. It's a lot lighter than the regular Keurigs and doesn't have a reservoir. With the bigger models (which have reservoirs) you are supposed to express all of the water out of the pump mechanism before flying. My family loves the Keurig and everyone picks their favorite coffee for the trip. Next week I'll be bringing ours to BCV so that the 6 of us can start the day with our favorites. I hope that someday the villas will supply Keurigs or at least rent them out for a nominal fee.

Since when does having a Keurig in the room PRECLUDE having a regular coffee maker too?

Everybody seems to always post as if they're somehow mutually exclusive or something and you can't, or wouldn't, have both. :confused3

This is DVC you are talking about--you get the minimum--one coffee pot.

But why replace good, working coffee pots with more expensive Keurigs? Isn't that a waste of money? Much like if they'd replace the current, working stoves with induction cooktops just because they can.

I wouldn't be surprised when it comes time to replace the coffee pots in the villas if Kuerigs are still "in" they will replace the coffee pots with the Cuisiart pod single cup maker like the other Disney resorts have gotten.

NO! I do not want Keuregs in the room. We bought ours for travel, and I don't want my dues to go up due to abusive other people. Many use an owners locker for their own....it should stay that way. As far as the environmental impact....well, I use a little filter device from walgreens. We have four of them. You put your own ground coffee in them, close the lid and put it in the keureg. Easier than the my k cup thing where you have to remove the center piece. THis pops in just like a k cup. Dunkin Donuts is it for me. My A+ cup of coffee. I have tried many kcup varieties that come close, but dunkin is it. It is far cheaper to buy a pound (or two when it's on sale) and use it in this device in my keureg. No waste, better taste than drip coffee, and much cheaper than going to DD or using their Kcups. My wife is a tea drinker so she puts two tea bag in it and it works well. The four pack from walgreens had two red and two black filters. I use black for coffee, she uses red for her tea, and the flavors never mix.
