Keurig-please help me, i am so lost

I purchase my K-Cups from Coffeewhiz.com
This can be a very intimidating experience; so many vendors, so many flavors, what to choose? Good luck! Enjoy your new coffee pot!

I LOVE the pumpkin spice from Starbucks. There is a Pumpkin Spice in the K-cup that I can not get enough of. I wish it wasn't a seasonal flavor though. I need more!

I agree about the hot chocolate being too weak...I simply buy the Swiss Miss packets, put one in a cup, place the cup under the dispenser and just let it dispense hot water into the cup.

That is what my kids do. They love to use the machine, they think it makes them grown up. I turn the machine on in the morning and it gets used all day.
Especially now that they are home so much with the weather.
When I got the machine my husband wanted me to take it back, it was too much money. Now he uses more than I do. I just laugh and walk away.

I am 99.9% sure that the coffees and teas are sugar free. There is not room in the K Cup for sugar AND coffee grounds. The hot chocolate may have sugar or artificial sweetener. Doesn't matter, the hot chocolate is not good.

If you buy, don't forget what other threads have suggested to get your first shipment dirt cheap. Go to the Keurig web site, register your machine, and you can order 4 boxes for the price of 2 with the code WARRANTY. I got 4 boxes of 24 each K cups for $25.01. There was no S&H. GREAT DEAL![/QUOTE]

We all also used this promotion and it was the best Keurig deal I've ever gotten (I've had my Keurig for 2 YEARS). Also, if you register or recommend someone else and they sign up and register their Keurig, you get coupons for free coffee (I didn't see this part of the deal until my daughter pointed it out). I know 5 people you got a Keurig for Chrismas this year.

I'm kind of baffled. I thought this was a budget board. :) Doesn't anyone think that the K-cups are just expensive?? My sister gave me her Keurig and all the K-cups she had because she didn't use it. I had a full rack of K-cups, and 5 boxes of full of them. But honestly, I can't bring myself to buy any more of those things because they are so expensive! Buying Foldgers (or something similar) only costs around $.04/cup. At 2 cups a day, I'd have to buy like 3 packs just for a month! That's a haircut or a tank of gas!

Did I write this in my sleep? This describes my house exactly:rotfl:
My DH was so mad that I spent so much money on a coffee machine. Now he loves it!!

True, but my husband and I look at it this way: he goes to Dunkin' 5 days a week to start the day (he gets up before I do and I was the coffee maker). He gets a muffin there when he goes. That's $4 per visit, $20 per week. I would get up and make a pot of 6 cups, drink 2 and throw away 2 (since 6 cups on the coffee maker isn't really 6 CUPS per se). That's wasteful.

Now he uses one k cup (between 20 and 40 cents depending on the deal I got) in his coffee mug, brings a nutrigrain bar with him and hasn't been to dunkin since xmas (when I got the machine)!

I use one k cup in the morning, and treat myself to a second one later in the day.

I get the bonus of having my flavored coffee while DH gets his regular coffee.

We figured out with him alone we're saving about $100 per month between his daily stops and an extra french vanilla for me on the weekends. That more than pays for our machine and cups during the month.

I agree with you that it sounds expensive in theory, but compared to what we were doing it's saving us money.

Unfortunately, DH and I are in what I hope is just a "honeymoon" period as we are spending quite a bit trying all the K cups out there!

I hope this will pass because we drink on average 7 K cups a day. 7 X 31 days = 217 K cups per month. We figure an average of 37 cents per cup which means we spend at least $80 per month.

But we have found some roasts to be fantastic and have nearly abandoned our regular Cuisinart coffee maker.

Ok, it is Saturday morning and I have finished my third delicious cup. Step away from the Keurig. Step away from the Keurig.

I see your point. But it is expensive if you visit Starbucks or donut shops to get your morning fix. Plus, we would always end up throwing out half the pot when we used a regular coffee maker. The other side of it is that the Keurig coffee is so enjoyable that I sometimes drink a cup or two more than I normally would. So I just try to get the best deals on K cups and savor every fresh sip!

I guess I should go back to the "favorite spluge" thread and add my addiction to my Keurig!

Another teacher at school just got one and said it was wonderful! She got the one cup one..now I am confused. Do they all make a whole pot and then the k cups make just one cup? Please help...you all have made me want to go buy one today!! Thank you in advance.

they make one cup.

Also to OP my old boss was a diabetic & he said that most Flavored coffees had sugar in them, now this was 5 yrs ago so things could have changed. I would email keurig direct from their website &/or go to www.singleservecoffee.com you be able to find your answer there.

Good luck

I love my Keurig and stock up on K-Cups every 3 months or so from www.Keurig.com
If you have the brewer and join the coffee club you get 10%off and also if you register your brewer you will also get buy 2 get 2 free and a free sample pack.
It's cheaper then my starbucks trip was costing everyday for the 3 of us girls in the household.

Our Bed Bath Beyond has a huge selection of Kcups. You can buy one Kcup for .70, and they had quite a few different ones out, so you can at least try them before you buy a whole box and find out you don't like them. I am so glad I registered mine and got that great deal.

Here is some info from the Keurig web site regarding sugar in K Cups:

Unless you want to buy the single K Cups to try them out, BB&B is not the best deal, even with the 20% off coupon. The boxes are only 18 count, so they come out to be around $.444444 cents each. I use the subscription at amazon and buy using the frustration free packaging (which is one box of 50 instead of 2 boxes of 24) and it comes out to be $.36 each -free shipping.

I don't know if this is true, but I believe someone once said that if you don't like the ones from BB&B you can return it?:confused3 Anyone know?

It pretty much depends how this fits into your life. Mine is in the office. I use to buy 2 cups of coffee a day at the snack bar, so now my coffee price is 1/2 the amount which means I save more (that's after I calculated the cost of the machine into the equation). At home we use our BUNN. My daughter only has one cup of coffee in the morning so the Keurig mini fits her perfectly (DH does not drink coffee). It all depends how the Keurig fits your lifestyle. If you are a family that goes through a pot of coffee in the morning, I would stick to a BUNN (which is our choice of quick coffee pots we use at home).

You can buy the "my K-cup" and use your Folger's or Maxwell House or whatever you buy. We buy the k-cups, but we also use the "my k-cup" quite a bit. My dh and I only drink one cup of coffee in the morning, and then maybe another in the evening. We used to throw pots of coffee away, because we won't re-heat it :scared1:

I received a bag of Starbuck's coffee from one of my students for Christmas, and right now, we've been using that in the "my K-cup"...it's great!!

Well, I suppose y'all are right, if you normally go to Dunkin Donuts (LOVE it!) or Starbucks, then you are saving money. I'm the only one who drinks coffee in my house. I guess I'm just really really cheap! :teeth: I will admit though, I am back to using my Foldgers with the Keurig and because I'm using the filter that came with the machine, now I don't have to buy the paper filters for my drip machine and the coffee does taste so fresh. I have to say, I tried over 5 different varieties though and my FAV by far was Gloria Jean's Hazelnut k-cup. So delish.

When I registered my machine, I did that deal that everyone is talking about. One of the flavors I ordered was Glazed Chocolate Donut. OMG....it is SOOOO good!!! I wish they sold this one at BB&B....

I use My KCup with Dunkin donuts coffee and it works great. I still like the variety and taste of the prepackaged k cups. One thing I wanted to say is that espresso does not work in My K Cup. I had some Starbucks espresso in the freezer and decided to try it in my Keurig. I filled the My K Cup and set it on the smallest cup size. It is not the same as using an espresso machine-way too weak.
