Hello everyone. I know when it comes to taking off food from the Disney Cruise the food needs to be factory sealed. Do beverages also need to be factory sealed, or can you bring a filled reusable water bottle when getting off of the ship in ports?
So this food thing is something I’ve only just come across - we’re sailing for the first time in May. Does this mean if we were to visit a candy store at port (I may have pinned the Alaska Fudge Company on my map ) anything purchased from the counter would need to be eaten before the end of our cruise? We love to bring local candy back for friends while on holiday, don’t want to find myself with bags full that we then can’t take home!
(Sorry to hijack the thread with another question!)

By food they mean fresh meat, fruits and vegetables, so cut or fresh plants/flowers. Anything processed/packaged can be brought on and off the ship, so candy is fine. The reason for these is pests and diseases that can affect agriculture in the various ports/countries these ships visit. Hawaii is extremely strict about this to keep their ecosystem free of pests/diseases being brought into the islands. We just got off the destiny and my son bought some dried, packaged variety of peppers for cooking and it was not a problem to bring them on the ship from Cozumel or take them off when we got back to Ft. Lauderdale. I filled up a water bottle with pog juice/“orchards best” on the last day to bring home as it’s my favorite from cabanas the last morning. This obviously wouldn’t be a good idea if you are flying home due to the liquids rule but we live nearby. Enjoying POG juice mimosas for lunch today finishing it up. When filling up water bottles and cups on the ship don’t fill it up directly at the machine to avoid germ contamination. Instead use a clean up that you use to pour into your refillable container.

Okay that makes SO much sense! I watched a vlog series recently, and they had received a box of chocolates in their state room and made a point of eating them on their last night because everything that comes off the ship has to be “factory sealed”, so I thought if we were to get a paper bag of something (fudge etc) then we’d have to eat them before disembarking.
