Do the villas have keurig coffee makers now?

Just checked out of AKV last week....no Keurigs.

You know that members pay to replace perfectly fine coffee pots, right? Mr Coffee style is just fine for me. And they didn't use Keurig in the hotel rooms. They are Cuisinart pod style, not Keurig.

If you want a Keurig, you can bring your own along.

Cuisinart actually has their own Keurig brewer. Well, it is a Cuisinart branded Keurig, lol, we have owned two of them : )

But there is a huge price difference between pod style and K-Cup brewers. I have a couple Keurig brewers (K-Cup & Vue Packs) and I don't want my dues going up to pay for more expensive coffee makers when the Mr Coffee brewers are fine for most people.

I can't imagine Disney putting Keurigs in rooms. The increased cost of the machines and coffee pods over regular coffee would be just too much to justify IMO. I plan on taking our Keurig with us whenever we go to WDW, VB or HHI. Just something else in the trunk, no big deal.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but a question - has anyone ever run across a plastic type container that a Keurig would fit in snuggly? I may go to Target with the dimensions of the Keurig and look for a container before our VB/WDW trip in June.

Oh I completely agree that Disney would be silly to replace the current coffee pots with Keurig brewers. I was only pointing out that a Cuisinart branded Keurig brewer does exist. (there was a post that suggested the Cuisinart was a different pod system, which I suppose they could also make their own pod system as well...) I totally agree it would be way too expensive. We also own a Keurig mini and have brought it to WDW. For a while we had our mini in the travel bag and left it in our Owners Locker. At the moment we have three Owners Lockers and no room for the Keurig. (when the baby is older I hope to have more room to bring back the Keurig!)

I was pointing out that the coffee pots in the HOTEL rooms were cuisinart pod style, not Keurig type. These do not use K-cups, but pods.

My Keurig mini is packed in my Owners Locker. :)

So what kind of coffee makers? Am wondering which coffee I need to buy because I read that they only give you enough coffee for one morning. I'm a new member and was wondering if anyone could help. Kinda sad that all that money doesn't even buy you a weeks worth of coffee.

They sell coffee at the stores at Dvc resorts fwiw. And filters. A bit more than at Publix but it's convenient if you don't have a car.

Mr Coffee type, 10-12 cup, with flat bottom filters. You provide the filters. You get either a single pouch or two pouches of filtered coffee each service day. Each pouch makes about 4-5 cups of coffee. You also get a few sugar packs, sweetener packs and creamer packs with the coffee pouch.

So if you like coffee, bring your own including coffee filters, creamer, sweetener (if you use them).

We are currently at WDW staying at BCV. Our 1BR Villa has a Rival coffee pot.

The Rival coffee maker is terrible. The coffee temperature is barely hot and the warmer keeps the coffee luke warm. Also, the basket comes apart and doesn't swivel like the Mr. Coffee's. I am so disgusted with my morning coffee!! When did they get rid of Mr. Coffee??? :confused3

I hope they don't convert all the coffee makers to Rival!!

Anyone else have this problem???

Mr. Coffee makes a brewer that uses the Keurig k-cups. It has the Keurig label right on the front of the brewer. I was too cheap to buy a Kuerig so I waited and bought the Mr. Coffee just before Christmas for $69.00. I use it a lot and it works great. At that price they could economically purchase them for the villas, however; then they'd have to provide the coffee in k-cups which would probably be too expensive. I do love my coffee, but wouldn't want dues to go up for that.

Was at BCV earlier in the month and had the same brand pot. Hated it!!!
We were at Aulani in January and they had Sunbeam pots that were just as bad. The first one we had in the room was broken and coffee spilled all over the counter. They brought us a brand new pot that they took out of the box in our room and it didn't work correctly either. Third time was the charm. I too wish they would go back to Mr Coffee instead of the pots I can buy at Target for $9.99

I would be very surprised if Disney puts Keurig coffee makers(or makers using K-cups) into the hotels and villas. At least right now, those non-recyclable plastic K-cups are not environmentally friendly.

The Environmental Impact Of K-Cups

Last year had a conversation with a CM who said that if Keurig would give them K-cups units, they would use them. But currently DVC is given the current style, so that's what they use.

It did not seem promising that the K-cups units would be in the future.

:confused3

K-cups are so much more expensive over loose coffee grounds or even a pouch of coffee that makes a pot full. But if you are used to $7 a cup at Starbucks, I guess $0.50 a cup at home isn't that bad.
