Can anyone tell me if they still provide kettles in the hotels which have minibars in the rooms? I know they used to provide them when they first opened, but there have been some cutbacks over the years and I don't remember seeing them since.

Returned from Newport Bay last month - we had a minibar but no kettle unfortunately - tea and coffee making facilities would've been very welcome. If you have any more questions, please ask.

Hi Bexx

We also stayed at the Newport Bay Club last June (2001) and we never had any tea making facilities either :(

It might be worth taking a Travel Kettle and some tea bags with you - milk is available from the shop in the main lobby :D

you can get a kettle & Mugs from reception, you need to leave a deposit (it was around £10). They also have little boxes with tea, coffee and biscuits which were about £3 - I would suggest bringing your own tea and coffee because there wasn't much in there for £3.

Thanks everyone. Not sure yet if I'll hire it or take my own - I'll see how much space I have!

I'm only assuming there used to be kettle, as I don't actually remember seeing one. But I was sorting through all the stuff one brings back from Disney holidays and found the mini bar checklist from our first trip (10 years ago )and it had instructions for the kettle provided on the back!!
