I love a cup of tea first thing in the morning, does the DLH have electric kettles? If not is there somewhere close I can buy a cheap electric kettle?
I don't function well without my morning cuppa of tea.

Thanks.

The Coffee House at DLH might have them, not sure though.

no they dont have a kettle but you could ask them for a coffee pot and can just run water through it for your tea:goodvibes

When you get to your room call housekeeping and they will bring up the coffee pot!

I'm assuming that you will probably be wanting to make tea on a rolling boil, which I fully understand. I'm the same, and did some investigations for us.

You could pop down to Target which is around 1 mile away I believe, however looking at their website it's not something that would guarantee to have in stock.

The alternative we have is to purchase from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/105-8897073-8300443?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=kettle the day before you leave and get delivery to the hotel - you may need to call DLH first to find out on procedures for accepting delivery.

I've never seen an electric kettle in an American hotel, and DLH certainly didn't have them when I was there last week. You could try running it through a coffeemaker (I didn't know you could request those), but it won't be the same rolling boil as a kettle.

I agree with the PP to check Target. The one near me often has them in stock for $10 or so.

I also agree with bringing your own electric kettle.

I had housekeeping at DLH bring me up a coffeemaker but I couldn't get the coffee taste out of the machine when I ran my water through it to make my own tea (granted, I only tried a few times).

I agree: bring an electric kettle with you. I can't stand coffee, so I notice any lingering taste. It will brew much better than from the coffee machine anyway.

If you'll have a car in the area, getting one from Target is certainly doable- I usually find myself there at least once when I'm on a vacation!
