Do I want a negative reading or a positive reading????
 
You want the stick to turn some sort of a color (so I think you want positive).

And... it doesn't matter WHAT color, so long as it turns... any color at all means you're burning fat (or, it could be that you have eaten a lot of fat recently... but we're hoping for the burning fat! ;))
 
Really? Could eating too much fat make the strip turn a color too? That might explain why I sometimes get a reading and other times do not. And if that's the case- maybe I'm not in ketosis and that's why I'm not losing! Oh my!! What now?
 
It is best to test first thing in the morning, and at the same time everytime you do...doing it at multiple times does not help, as there is nothing to comapre too. You want the strip to change in color. Does not matter how dark, as long as it changes. Certain things like dehydration, exercise and eating can change the results, that is why the best time to do it is first thing in the morning.
