You folks seem to be the Keruig guru's so I'm wodering if you can help me.

I have a Platinim brewer, it's maybe a year and a half old and it's not working right. For the past few weeks, when I try to brew coffee, it sounds like it's working, but then when it gets to the part where the coffee would actually come out, nothing happens. I have to open and "re-brew" several times before the coffee actually comes out (and even then, instead of brewing in "under a minute" it will take 3-5 minutes). (If you've ever had a problem with the brewer after making hot chocolate, it's the same problem, only magnified).

Frankly, it's a really annoying problem to have with no coffee in my system!:coffee:

I've tried descaling with vinegar. I've washed everything that I can take apart to wash so I don't think there's a clog anywhere.

I thought I'd check here to see if you have any advice before I shell out the $$ for a new one. It really is fantastic when it works! (If no one has any advice, anybody know where to get a good deal this time of year.)

Thanks!

Sounds like a problem with the pump. Try calling keurig directly, people have had luck getting a replacement even when out of warranty

If I remember correctly, after brewing tea, lattes, hot chocolate, it says to run water through for a few brews to clear it out. I'm not sure if not doing that for the past year and a half may have had an effect on the results.

The only other thing I can think of is we've had some issues with ours taking a while to start. Sometimes it seems like it doesn't draw the water from the reservoir (as if it isn't well connected). We take the reservoir off and reconnect it and it helps. We've made sure that we manually shut it off, after it completely finishes the cycle and making sure we never shut it off with the "add water" light on. Also, the pin might still be clogged somewhere, despite cleaning everything out. A paper clip might help out there.

The Keurig lady told me to use a paper clip to clean out all 4 holes in the pin that puts the holes in the kcups. That helped mine a little, but mine was shot so they gave me a new one.

I had this problem too. It seems to be due to hard water buildup. There are directions for "demineralizing" your Keurig in the instruction booklet using a dilute vinegar solution.

Fortunately, I bought my Keurig at Costco so I just returned in (a year and a half later, without a receipt!) and got a brand new one (with 60 K-cups!) :wizard:

This is what I did. I opened up a paper clip and cleaned every crevice I could find. My Keurig has worked like a charm for the past year after I cleaned it out with the paper clip!

Good luck!

How long did you let the vinegar sit in the machine? I had to leave my machine on for about three hours with vinegar sitting in the water resivour.

I put about 1 cup of vinegar in the well and fill with water, I run it all thru the maker, making cup after cup til gone. Then i run it with plain water thru the maker to flush out any remaining vinegar. Also I have read of the paper clip trick. I had the same problem, only with a timothys k cup, and it seemed the plastic on the k cup wasnt piercing properly, almost like it was too think. It looks like the k cup was going to overflow as it was holding the water and not letting it come out.

Had a similiar problem, but we are 2 years out, so I don't think we can get a replacement. If you call customer service, at least you can "register" your problem so perhaps if it continues, a second call might result in a replacement.

The CS gal I spoke to walk me through a bunch of stuff already mentioned here, but she did suggest puncturing the cup twice before brewing - helped a little.

Had the same problem, used the vinegar and the paper clip and that mostly helped. Occasionally we have the issue again and I open the top and re-close it that usually helps.
