Kept my feet feeling great

On my recent trip to disney, I was able to keep my feet blister free and feeling great even up to the last day. Here is what I did.

Each morning I powdered the inside of my socks with Blister Shield Foot Powder. I found the powder at my local Shield's Sporting Goods Store.

I applied Mole Skin to known problem areas on my feet before putting on my socks. The moleskin stayed in place great and really helped to prevent blisters and calasis.

Each night when returning to the room, I would soak my feet in warm water and Johnson's Foot Soap. (very soothing). After the 15 minute soak, I applied a peppermint foot lotion. Both items were purchased at my local Walmart store.

I did keep some New Skin liquid on hand just in case. I only used it once on the last day. I had a small blister at the bottom of my big toe because the edge of the moleskin rubbed on it.

Yes, it did take some time to go through this regiment each day, but it was sooooo worth it.

Thanks for the great advice!

If you need to deal with swelling feet, put your feet up, elevated above your head, for a least an hour or so each night. Or better yet, do the same at your mid-day break if you have one. This helps with circulation.

If you can get a caring person to rub your feet for you, that will help too. Promise him/her a Mickey ice cream bar for each massage!

Also, everyone here probably already knows to take well broken in shoes.

I think I shall have to go look for that peppermint lotion myself!

I wish i would have known about this when i went to disneyworld for the first time. REally ladies just remeber it comfort over looking nice. I know for next time. i so am going to that foot regiment. It sounds like a great way to unwind also. Everyone needs some time alone even on vacation to unwind.

I LOVE MY SAUCONY RUNNERS. I believe they are the best runner on the market. I invest in a new pair about 1 month prior to heading out to Disney. They feel like I'm walking on air. Nike's hurt the back of my heel and Rebock's hurt the toes. Saucony's seem to be the best. They are usually only found at specialty stores, but I did find a pair at the mall once. Sorry forgot the name of the store.
Just a thought

Great tips!;) I'll never forget my first trip to DW in 2000.. I thought my feet were going to fall off every night upon returning to the hotel!!:p I soaked them in the tub every night! I will need to locate some of this peppermint stuff too!

my feet always feel great...you see i am gellin'.

I found Sauconys at Kohl's yesterday. I didn't care for the way they felt on my feet, but my feet are pretty much Nike-shaped.

Target has some socks designed to prevent blisters - in the regular aisle with the other ladies' socks. I will be buying these unless someone has tried them and didn't like them! I think they are called BlisterGuard.

Body Shop has a whole line of peppermint foot products - soak, scrub, lotion. I really enjoy these at home so we will absolutely take them to WDW.

Keep those tips coming! My feet need all the help they can get!

This is why Goodshoes are good and BadShoe are Bad.

I forgot to pack my Blister-shield my last trip a few weeks ago, and got a BAD blister on my toe next to my little toe.....this thing hurt for 2 days straight! I even had to leave a park early because of it. I wear ONLY New Balance, and I am sure it was due to me not taking care of my feet before going out.

Birkenstocks that are very broken in are the best...... Toes are free and airy and legs feel good......

The socks they sell at target are great, you want something that will "wick" away the perspiration. I have also been told that using regular deodrant helps too(yes you slick it across your foot the same way you would your underarm) and me my fav sneaks are a pair of Vans bought about a month before the trip that way they are still cushy, but downside is when they get wet they are heavy, I also have a pair of asics gels that have a lot of mesh in them so they keep my feet cool, always bring two pairs of sneaks if you can, I change em out often (trying to fool my feet into thinking they aren't tired. :cool1:
