Just returned from a quick 3-day getaway with a friend who had never been to WDW before. Since she wanted to see as much as possible around the parks (we did great, by the way, without killing ourselves), we opted to eat simply and quickly. Since we stayed in a BCV studio, we had breakfasts in the room. Here's where we wound up for our other meals, along with the letter grade I'd give each one:
Thurs. Supper at Sunshine Terrace in The Land - I had the tuna sandwich. It was huge! The tuna salad was excellent, but the hoagie bun was kind of dry and chewy. My friend had a burger that she said was good. Grade - B
Fri. Lunch at Le Cellier - We both had the steak burger and fries. It was wonderful! It was really filling. Our waiter was great, and we also enjoyed the breadsticks before the meal. We left feeling plenty full. Grade - A
Fri. Supper was Spoodles' takeout pizza and green salad. We got a whole pizza, which gave us a lunch from the leftovers. Got another salad to go with those leftovers. The pizza was good, but not great. I liked that the crust was not greasy. The green salad was especially good. We split one each time, and it was more than enough. Grade - B
Sat. Lunch - Leftovers I just mentioned
Sat. Supper at Cosmic Ray's - We split a grilled chicken sandwich and fries, so that we could pig out later while watching Spectromagic. We thought the food was good, and splitting a meal was just right for us. We were impressed with how efficiently they handle the crowds. Grade - A-
Sun. Lunch at Pecos Bill's - We each had a burger and fries. Gotta love that fixins bar!! Very impressive. We decided later that we should have split an order of fries, because so many came along with each sandwich. The food was fine, although the burger could have been hotter. Grade - B
Sun. Supper at Cantina de San Angel - I had the tacos, and my friend had the wet burrito. We both thought the food would have been good if only it had been hot! It had obviously been sitting on the "hot table" for a while. Grade - C
Other - We got carryout treats from Beaches and Cream one night. My friend had the brownie supreme or whatever it's called. It was humongous! She loved it and wound up freezing some of it for the next day. I had a chocolate malt that was excellent. We also enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies and brownies from the Boardwalk Bakery and the chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate from Main Street Bakery. Do you notice a certain chocolate theme in this paragraph?
That's about it. No sit-down dinners for us this time, but it worked out well with our plans. I had not tried a number of these places before, so it was fun to sample some new spots.
