Kept APs- did I make the right decision?

Our APs were set to expire 8/21 but were extended to 1/15 cause Covid. Just moved Aug trip to Dec to keep Covid discount and use current APs. Second guessing the decision cause I'm not sure how much $ we would gotten back had we cancelled APs and rebooked instead for next Aug. Would it be 355 per pass for the closure period plus 125 for the days from 7/12 thru 8/21, so 480 per pass? Further complicated cause we used old passes towards the purchase of the APs. I'm thinking not cancelling the passes was worth it because 1) can use in Dec & renew for Aug 2) who knows when new APs will be available, 3) AP discount seems to be the only one available for TS now, 4) we'll save a bit if we do the renewal, 5) the renewal will cover a trip next Aug, and 6) if no other discounts, maybe we can get an AP discount on the room portion for Aug. Did I do the right thing, or am I just fooling myself with Disney math?
