Hello,
for those of you with experience your advice would be appreciated.
We are camping at fort wilderness the last part of May. We have a little blind Maltese that is comming with us. We will be spending 2 days at USO/IA. My question for you is, have any of you used the kennels at Universal? Would you use the universal kennels or leave him at the Epcot kennels and pay for them to walk him a couple times?
thanks,
Heather

Where is he staying when you are in Ft Wilderness? I know you can keep him in your own RV while at the Disney parks...if that is what you are doing, then keep him there while in Universal. Ft Wilderness has it's own Kennel too. It is up near the horse back riding stables, near where you check in at. So if you were to place him in a kennel, just place him in that one....

We're staying in a tent, so he has to be kenneled during the day. They have to be walked twice a day in disney kennels by the owner. I just can't see us driving back over there that many times while at US. That's why I was thinking epcot because they do offer dog walking services for an extra charge. Does anyone have any opinions about US kennels as opposed to Disney kennels?
Thanks,
Heather

You also have to walk them yourself at the Universal kennels and it's quite a hike from the parks. I think I would just keep him at Epcot and pay them to walk him.

I've never used either kennel, when we take ours with us we stay onsite at Universal and keep them in our room.

Kennels at IOA are great, but it is a far walk from the parks. The kennel is located in the parking garage on the far side. Last year, it was $10, free if you have an AP.

You have to come back at lunch to walk your dog.

It will take you about 20 minutes to exit IOA and walk to the kennel. Then you can go back to the park. Here's my web site where I talk about it.

To get to the kennel at IOA, you pay the parking fee, make a left and it's all the way at the end of the parking garage. How much is it for Disney to walk your dog? It's really a toss up depending on if you are ok with the long walk at noon.

Thanks for the info.
Disney kennels charge $2.50 per walk last I read. I guess We'll just see how he does the day before we go to Universal in the Disney kennel. He is blind and a rescue so, he can be a little anxious, cowering away from people. We'll have to see how he responds to the folks at the disney kennels who do the walking.
