Does anybody have any experience with the kennel at FW? If we decided to travel with our dogs (Boxers) and wanted to stay a night or two at Disney, I thought we might do the Fort.

We've used it twice. Once to board our dog overnight and once for the daycamp. We were very pleased with the kennel and our dog loved it.

Have they come up with a way to get your pet to the kennel if your MH is docked ?

Mickey used daycare for a week on our last trip in September. Pricier than the old kennel, but very clean, nice staff. The main kennel area is extremely noisey. Mickey is a senior and doesn't hear quite like he used to, so it was okay, but in his younger days it would have bothered him. Private kennels are very expensive. They do have a groomer on premises and for about 26 bucks they gave Mickey a bath, trimmed his nails and cleaned his ears. That was an excellent deal. Overall, he really liked it there and would do it again. Oh, and ice cream time was a nice treat for him and only cost 4 bucks a day.

Nothin better than a campin dog with a Frosty Paws! :)

Here's a picture of Mickey taken by the Best Friends staff last September. Tell me that isn't the face of somebody having a good time!

While I thought the kennel right at the Fort was very convenient, the Best Friends facility is pretty nice. Two of my dogs were there while we were at the parks earlier this week and the week before. We needed a car to get them there, but the Best Friends kennel is not far - it's on Bonnet Creek Parkway not more than 5 minutes away from FW. We ended up coming home a couple days early from this trip because the dogs got kennel cough while at Best Friends. I don't blame the kennel, since they require that all dogs have bordetella vaccines in order to stay there, and my dogs had also been vaccinated - it was just one of those things. They went to the vet this morning and she said it's a mild case that their immune systems are doing a good job of taking care of on their own. It won't stop me from taking them back there on our next trip.
