We're planning on visiting the space centre this October half term. Are there any week days that are busy/quiet compared to others??

I would try for the middle of the week. Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Monday could be quiet too. If there are any school trips taking place that usually happens on Friday. Sorry I can't be more specific. We usually go on Monday or Tuesday (but that is during the summer) and it has never been overly crowded.

It's also a good thing to get there early. After the park has been open for an hour or so, the lines for the bus tour start to get long.

We love visiting KSC. Hope you have a great time!

I wouldn't worry too much about crowds at KSC - it is nothing like as busy as the Parks and it is really spread out .

Infact, this makes it a good place to go when the Parks are very busy - we went on President's Day (equivalent B.Hol.) this year and though it was busy it wasn't crowded - nothing like the Parks anyhow.

The above poster is right - get there early if you only intend to spend one day there as there is alot to see.

I would highly recommend the lunch with the astronaut experience too..especially if you have kids ....
It isn't over the top price wise, and bear in mind you'll probably be having to buy lunch there anyhow if you are there all day. We really thought it was very interesting and the food was good and plentiful (drinks were free) -you can check out who the astronaut will be on the NASA website a few months beforehand ; some have only been to the Skylab though...they are not all moon walkers/orbitors - but interesting non the less. :thumbsup2

Also make sure you see the Tom Hanks IMAX film - brilliant !!!

There's a rocket launch due for the 18th October so it may get a little busy whenever that goes up. Hope it gets postponed for a week so we can see it! :goodvibes

We went on a Thursday and booked a up close tour in advance on the internet, KSC had peole there but it wasnt that busy. Atlantis was out on its stand, a few days later it was struck by lightning.

The tour was excllent and took you to all the places good photo opportunites great guide with us, treated like royals and given good books to take away and at the end the the final stop dovetails into the normal bus coach tour around.

I choose a Thursday for one reason only, we have gone on the Disney Magic a lot, never on the Disney Wonder and its in port on Sundays and Thursdays.

From the KSC tour we saw the Wonder and other cruise ships in port, then afterwards about 5pm we drove down the small way to the port, and watched it depart, we herd the band at the sailaway party, and thought we will be on the Magic up there the following Saturday.
