Sorry if this is the place to post this.

Anyone been to the Kennedy Space Center with 7 to 8 year olds. Your thoughts?

Thinkin' of goin' with daughter (more for me than her) as a part of our 9 day vacation.

Thanks for any responses.

You need to go to their website or call before you plan a trip. I know they suffered a lot of hurricane damage and some things are closed. I don't know how soon they will be (or are) fixed.

I was just visiting the website - not a word on any damage or closures - there's even a launch scheduled in six days.

So, we're goin' - I ordered the tickets and have driving directions.

We'll see what happens.

:p

We went with dd10 and dn12 2 years ago right after the tragedy. I was dreading this day, boooooring! How wrong I was! It ended up being the highlight of our trip and we did a lot of fun things that week.

I highly recommend the "lunch with the astronaut" admission. It made our whole day. It was a delicious buffet luch with extra little space shaped things etc. and you had an actual astronaut come in and speak. The kids got to ask questions, got pictures and papers such as a resume etc. Great stuff to take back to school. Very educational and interesting. We took the bus tours, saw lots of wildlife. Went to the memorial. Gave the kids a much better idea of what they had been watching on the news.

They also had one of the funnest (is that a word:~) gift shops I'd ever been in. We went with the thought that we'd stay a couple of hours and then head over to the beach for the afternoon. Wrong--- we stayed until closing!
