My husband and I are going to Universal Studios in a couple of weeks *12 days * and are planning on taking a trip over to Kennedy Space Center. I am sure that this will be an all day adventure and I know that the park opens at 9.

My question is this: Has anyone traveled from Univeral to Kennedy? How long is the drive? Once arriving at KSC do you suggest doing things in a certain order to get to see everything? I know that my husband would be very disappointed if we missed something. Any help you could give would be wonderful.

Thanks,
~Sara :wave2:

Well we went from Disney to KSC and the drive takes about an hour to an hour and a half (depending on traffic).
Once you arrive at KSC there are tour busses so you really don't miss anything there unless you miss the shops at the entrance, and there are a quite a few of them.
It is a full day if you do both tours (not sure if they are offering both since 9/11 ) one was in secure areas, so it may not be offered any longer.

Thanks DNSDisney,

That really helps me out a lot. Now I know what time we should get up so we can be there as close to opening time as possible. :sunny: I can't remember if there were two tours listed on their website. I know there were two IMAX movies playing. More than likely I will want to hit at least a couple of the shops to get a few souveniers before heading home...

Thanks again,
~Sara

Yes, get there before opening time. There may be line to get in as well.

KSC is awesome! So many exhibits, shows, and what not to look at . We were there just befor 9/11 and stayed the entire day.

Bus tours are great, get those out of the way first. Then come back to do imax and other exhibits.

There are some discounts on tickets available with AAA and the Orlando Magi Card. $2.50 or so, but it helps.

Food and souvenirs are not cheap at KSC.

Thanks Herc,

I'll suggest it to my DH to get the bus tours out of the way first and then hit all the other sites. I'll also remember to take extra deniro so we can grab some lunch. :-)

Thanks,
~Sara

Just a little reminder that the road to Kennedy has a few tollbooths. They don’t cost much but it was a surprise to us. Loved the 0.10 one! ! !

Oooh...good one AJA55. I heard before that there are tollbooths, I just forgot. I'll remember to grab some rolls of change to take with us. I figured I'd take a roll of quarters anyway, just in case we needed to do laundry.

Thanks for the good tip! :smooth:
