At our time of travel, my boys will be 7 and a month shy of 5. My husband and I have visited Kennedy Space Center before and loved it. Do you think kids my boys ages would like it? My oldest loves all things space. Just not sure my youngest would have any interest in that bus tour. I think it was kind of long.

Would welcome any input. Thanks.

I would think older elementary would be an ideal age, but every kid is different. There is a kid at church that is 5 that I know would love it and do great. My ownkids would've likedit at that age, but would enjoy it so much more now.

In my opinion, without the bus tour there's not really much to do. We walked around the rocket garden (five minutes), went inside the space shuttle exhibit (maybe ten minutes) and saw one of the 3-D movies. It was interesting, but it's a lot of money to spend if you're not going on the tour.

My boys 10 and 6 loved it but they did the bus tour and they both are really into aviation (went with their uncle a pilot and their dad).

I, personally, was bored out of my mind when I decided to skip the bus tour because of our toddler.

Thank you. Sounds like it's better to wait. Don't want to spend a day of our vacation traveling to something they might not enjoy just yet.

We took our daughters 6 and 2 and they liked it. Much of the experience was lost on the two-year-old, but she liked seeing the rockets and spaceships and spacemen. The six-year-old was not too floored by the launch overlook, but the second and third stops were a big hit. They're currently working on a few pieces of the space station, which is not something that will be there forever.

We were there two weeks ago. Our day and a half was not enough time to do everything. Of course, we were two adults in our 50s and we actually read all the exhibit labels, went on the rocket garden walking tour and stayed after to ask questions of the guide, saw both IMAX films and the Star Trek show, attended the astronaut lecture, went through the robot explorers show/exhibit, and took the included bus tour. We never made it to the Astronaut Hall of Fame (included in the admission) which has more intensive shuttle experiences.

This is not a theme park with a lot of hands-on activities. It's educational. Our sons would have enjoyed it at age 8 and up but they were early readers and interested in science and the space program. They had been to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Smithsonian Air and Space Museum by about that age as well as being Star Trek and Star Wars fans along with us.
