Has anyone ever done the tour at the Kennedy Space Center? Can you tell me about it? How much is it? How long does it last? How far is it from Disney? Can you get discout coupons for it if there is a cost? How about a link? Thanks

We drove to Kennedy Space Center 3 years ago. It is about 1 to 1 and a half hour drive from the Disney area. It was fun although young kids might find it boring. I would imagine that there are places you can find discounts for it. Usually the hotels on the 192 strip have discount coupons for it or one of the web sites that have florida attraction coupons.

Hope this helps.

WE WENT 4 YRS AGO YOU PAID APPROX $5 THEN WE WENT AGAIN LAST YEAR AND YOU PAY A PRICE TO GETINTO THE CENTRE - LOTS OF $$$ AROUND $30 - $40

FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR AND THAT IS BASIC - EACH PERSON YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT $20+ EACH

NOTHING DIFFERENT I DONT THINK

WHEN WE WENT ON THE TOUR 4 YRS AGO - YOU GOT ON A BUS, STOPPED OFF A FEW STOPS - WAS A LONG WAY AWAY FROM THE SHUTTLE AND YOU SAW THE BIG BUILDING WHERE THE SHUTTLE WAS KEPT WHEN NOT IN USE.

I WOULD IMAGINE IT WOULD BE GOOD IF YOU KNEW THERE WAS GOING TO BE A LAUNCH BUT WE HAVE NEVER BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE THERE AT THAT TIME.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE NEWS BULLETINS AND THEY MAY TELL YOU.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!

JAYNED FROM BIRMINGHAM IN THE UK!

There is one fee for the Kennedy Space Center Complex and that includes one of the tours I believe. The tour lasts something like 2 hours and the rest you do at your own pace. I got a lot of info at www.orlandotripplanner.com - there are descriptions of the areas, tours , pricing etc...The tour buses are airconditioned (a good thing for us on our upcoming trip). I think you can get a discount on tickets with the Orlando Magic Card - we got tickets with our hotel at Cocoa Beach (included in room price). Have a great time.

maciec-

We're fortunate in that a previous launch was scrubbed (from the week before) and was rescheduled right in the middle of our visit!:) - June 14, so I got tickets for what I call "the works": admission to the space center and launch site for the 4:15 launch then. You'll find out most everything you want to know by visiting their site:
www.kennedyspacecenter.com

It will list all prices, etc ...

good luck!

I think the Visitors complex is free and there is a lot of stuff to see. Only if you want a tour do you have to pay.

I am not 100% positive!

I just checked out the site above and it says nothing about the visitors complex being free!

What a rip off. My family of six will have to pay over $150. I thought I was already paying for this place!

KSC has raised its adult price to $25. The price for children 3 to 11 stays at $15.

The "good news" is that they have lowered the annual pass price to $44 for adults and $28 for children, so an annual pass costs less than two days admission.

The main tour (which is very good BTW) is included in the price. You don't stay with one bus for the whole tour, just catch the next bus at each stop when you're ready. So it's possible to spend a very full 4 hours on this tour (although I suspect most folks do it in about 2 hours).

There are two other tours that have only a few departures each day and they each cost $20 in addition to the regular admission.

No taxpayer money is used to support the Visitor Center or the bus tours. It's all run by a private company.
