Kelly's first day back today...who watched.

Anderson Cooper always appears to me to be exceedingly polite. My guess only-His people probably have already told her people thanks but no thanks due to time constraints.

That's my take on it as well.

I just read this morning that Craig Ferguson is a named being tossed around. I love him. I would actually watch this lame show if he was hired.
I *love* Craig Ferguson. I don't see him putting up with Kelly, though.

Anderson Cooper was on with Megyn Kelly last night and she asked him about the chatter on this. I was surprised he didn't quickly dismiss the whole thing, but instead just said he had not been asked.

Wasn't that weird seeing him there? I was watching and thought "Is this some kind of parallel universe?" lol!

He probably didn't want to make a big deal out of it, because Cooper and Ripa are supposedly friends. I can't see him doing a morning show - too strong of a prime-time anchor for that.

He's promoting his new book, so I wasn't really surprised to see him anywhere! LOL.

And I agree. He's too big for a morning show host. It's smart to fill in and promote his show. But a full time gig? Not a chance.

See, I don't understand this idea. Do you work? Do your employers, as a rule, run changes by you? In my experience, most employers do not. Decisions are made and changes are announced.

I've worked for the same school district for 20 years. This is our third principal change and every time we've been called to an early morning meeting of 5 minutes where the move was announced. Within the hour, it was publicly announced. One of those principals was a close personal friend and that time I did now that she had been offered and was considering a move. I knew because she was discussing it with personal friends, as normal people do, who could be trusted to keep her confidence. Kelly apparently wasn't that to Michael. I would imagine that he has friends who knew.

Kelly is no more special than anyone at any job though she clearly thinks otherwise. When a decision was made, she was told. Did she think she deserved some say in the change? Why?

I think Kelly is pissed that Michael is being promoted while this is likely her ceiling. She's angry because it was a clear reminder that she is an employee- not an owner of the show.

She needs to gain some real world perspective and try to become relatable again. I've never been a big fan of the show. I enjoyed watching her in her early days- Regis was the one who bugged me. She has become less and less watchable as time went on.

As I've thought about this while it's been constantly in the news, I think it may be impossible for people to remain relatable and watchable, when it's their job to sit around and talk about themselves. They seem to start to view themselves as experts and become very self-important. Examples- Kelly, Oprah, many View hosts. The difference on the morning news shows is that they are reporting rather than discussing the majority of the time.

Apples and oranges. This is Kelly's show. Her name is in it. Is your name on your school? It's the Kelly and Michael show. She had every right to expect some advance notice and respect. She got neither.

I agree to all of the above. I remember that sweet Kelly that first came on. She never really worried about her looks. She'd mess her hair up for a laugh. Regis once asked her if she exercised and she just laughed and said never. That was the Kelly I admired. She was an average person at that point. When she changed, I don't know. I've noticed so many things lately that makes me sad to watch. I truly loved her, past tense. She is now a diva and I can't respect that.

And Oprah? Don't get me started.

I love Josh Groban and really want him to take over but I don't see that happening. I used to like Neil Patrick Harris but lost respect for him when he was a sub on LIVE and talked all about his money and influence. Got turned off REAL fast. He's pretty impressed with himself. Can't even imagine putting two people like that on a talk show.

I can distinctly remember when I realized Kelly had become a diva. It was when Clay Aiken covered her mouth with his hand. They had been joking about her talking a lot up to that point. Kelly didn't even have the grace to play it off. Instead she scolded him and made a derogatory comment that seemed entirely unnecessary.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't want anyone putting their hand on my face let alone my mouth. Yet, I wouldn't use live TV to belittle them.

Mods, please don't give me a point. I promise I will be good. Just couldn't resist that one.

I haven't read the entire thread, but I watched what Kelly said when she came back. My take on the whole thing is that her issue was with Disney/ABC and with Michael. She has worked for them for 25 years. I think she was justified in being upset by the fact that they didn't feel it was important enough to tell her that her cohost was leaving until shortly before it went public. Do i think she should have taken those days off, maybe not but that's not for me to say. I don't think how much money she makes should matter in whether or not she has a right to be upset. This show is her livelihood and the Mgmt. not seeing fit to tell her about the upcoming changes, would make me question my place and the show as an entity.
As for her weight, to quote my mother, "what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?" I don't understand everyone's need to comment on whether or not she's too skinny. Just let her be.

Yes I work. I've worked for the same company just as ling as Kelly has worked for ABC. Something similar happened to me but on Michaels end. I stepped down from management and asked to be able to tell my team on my own. To my dismay my job was posted on line before I got the chance to (I was assured this wouldn't happen until I told my team). So my job change affected others who were unable to hear from me. I was very angry with my company for taking that away from me and my team. I know it's not the same thing but I can kind of relate it to my situation.

Exactly! I don't think she's mad that Michael is leaving. I think she was mad about how she was told. I'm sure there's a lot of information that isn't public. And I'm sure it was a publicity stunt on ABCs part. Both shows are ABC shows so either way, they're getting attention.

Anyway, it's not the end of the world. I do think its mean of people to be commenting on Kelly's weight. We shouldn't be body shaming anyone. No matter how they talk about themselves. If she wants to talk about her weight that's her business but who are we to say that she's too skinny. She's a tiny girl and is very fit. We don't know her eating habits or lack there of. Her weight has nothing to do with her ability to do her job.

But it's NOT Kelly's show.

The show is "Live with *insert name here*"

Regis
Regis and Kathie Lee
Regis
Regis and Kelly
Kelly
Kelly and Michael

hosts/co hosts move on, the show remains mostly the same.

She came across as a spoiled diva brat, bitter that Michael is being given this awesome opportunity and she isn't.

I understand the same thing happened when Regis left - she wasn't given forenotice.

Very, very interesting!

I was home with strep yesterday and today. This was the first time in ages that I caught the show. I could feel a lot of tension between Kelly And Michael, especially when she asking him about the divorce situation (should kids stay in the same house and the divorced parents take turns living with them). She seemed to want to brag that that was nothing she had experience with. Maybe I'm just senitive because I'm not feeling well but all I could think was, it's a good thing Michael is leaving in May!

Here are two videos on it. The first one shows a background retrospective by Inside Edition, which shows Kelly doing the same things TWICE first to Regis (and then WHY Rosie O'Donnell got into it):

Now, knowing the overview, watch the video of the incident with Clay and how the next time on the show, Kelly goes off about it for 3 minutes! And the WAY she did it. :sad2: What's interesting is that she once again talks about demanding RESPECT, (like her speech, when she came back on Wed, about the network not giving her advance notice about Michael,) yet, IMO, she's quite rude talking about Clay, without him being there to defend himself or able to apologize or clear things up. :sad2:

:scared: Uh. . . yeah, NOW we know WHY no one at the network or Michael wanted to be the one to tell her he was leaving. :duck: :duck: :duck:
ALSO, WHY the network, in Kelly's own words this Wed, had "sharp shooters or snipers up in the balcony," to make sure she didn't stray off topic of the message they allowed and approved of her to say when she came back. If they hadn't, she would have gone off about them and Michael for 3 minutes. :sad2:

She can be a vindictive ***** :furious:

I tuned in for 2 minutes yesterday. They were talking about chopsticks. It was supposed to be a funny bit, but Michael said something and out came a vindictive zinger from Kelly, putting him down. :duck: I watched long enough to see how Michael was handling her, (after a stunned millisecond, he ignored the jab, and went on with the chopstick bit,) but I didn't stay to watch more than that. Yes, the tension between them is palpable. :scared: They don't even look at each other much anymore, and when the do, they barely look each other in the eyes. It's obvious Kelly is mad at him too. It's not just with the Network and the higher ups. I have to wonder if Michael will even last the next two weeks? :crazy2:

And Kelly doesn't see, she is ruining her own show. May Sweeps Weeks starting. The way she is going after Michael, show will kill her own ratings for the show and SHE will be the one to get it canceled by her own attitude. :sad2:

Yes, that's obviously what she thinks. "This is MY show. How dare they make a change without me being in the loop?" But really, the show is "Live with ---" and it belongs to ABC. Has she worked there a very long time? Yep. Is it "her show?" nope!
