That girl is too thin! You can just about see through her.

I haven't watched Live in a while, but that is the one thing that strikes me when I watch.

I agree! I stopped watching awhile ago, but if I catch a glimpse of it that's what I always think. Way too thin.

They always say the camera adds 10 pounds. I've seen her a couple times at WDW, she's even thinner looking. I hate how boney her upper chest is, I don't think it's attractive.

I saw the thread title and guessed it was going to say - is so thin! :rotfl:
My first thought - she really is too thin. Makes it seem like she has a huge head.

Her head really does look disproportionate to her body.

I think she is too thin also.

I do like her though. She seems pretty down to earth and like a decent person.

Who can we talk about as being too fat? Or would a thread like that not be acceptable?

I wouldn't worry about her but she keeps talking about how she needs to be careful about what she eats because she needs to lose weight. She says she's 'dense' and weighs a lot. I believe she has a mental health issue about her weight and body image. She's constantly making self deprecating comments about her body.

It seems like just being on Kelly and Regis where she has become to thin. When she was on All My Children I never remember her being so think she always looked really good:confused3

I read this thread as concerned and not mocking. I think she's a great gal and perhaps is getting pressure to be thin from several places. She wasn't this thin when she was on soaps and she looked healthy then. She works out like a fiend, runs and diets like it's her mission in life. She bragged about how she doesn't eat Thanksgiving until after 7pm so she only has one small meal and nothing else. Even Jillian Michaels says Thanksgiving is a day off from abstaining from treats and Jillian Michaels is a crazed drill sargent regarding eating and exersize.
Have you seen Ripa taste things during cooking segments? She licks or rubs the food against her tooth to get flavor, no bites.
She needs some help, imho.

Really? The huge head comment? That's just concern?

I can understand being concerned when someone has an unhealthy relationship with food and image. But thinness is not the only sign of this disorder. What you do say she is saying and doing are signs; that I cannot disagree with. There are overweight people with the same issues. There are "normal" sized people with the same issues as well. The commentary should be about she seems to be unhealthy not that she is too thin.

I call that the Lollipop syndrome. I see many women get so thin that they look like a lollipop.

That said, yes she is very thin, but to me , she doesn't look sick. She is VERY muscular and toned and does seem to take care of herself. But IMO, a few extra pounds wouldn't kill her.

Do you ever see those women so fat that you worry about their health? I mean, how can they properly clean themselves? What about their cholesterol levels? Diabetes? I am concerned about them. That is why I am posting this.

What about their double chins? It makes their heads so disproportionate to their bodies with all that fat hanging down. I call that the Santa Sydrome. The extra flesh hanging from their heads reminds me of Santa's beard.

Did you ever see them eat? I mean they just shove food down like there is no tomorrow.

Again, all of this is just out of concern. It is the only reason I am commenting on the eating habits of overweight people and how their heads are not in proportion with their bodies.

Yes, I read that as concern. I don't think anyone is mocking or disparaging her here.

FTR, I have thought that she has either an eating disorder or, at the very least, body image issues for years. She no longer looks healthy.

Point taken. You might really have a case if you saw women on tv talking about how they work really hard at being so fat, talking about it constantly, and holding it up as healthy and fabulous.

There is a point where obviously people have an unhealthy obsession. If Kelly Ripa was on tv saying "man I work so hard not to be so skinny it's very discouraging" like many fat celebrities say about their weight, no one would be saying these things.

There is really nothing wrong with the first part of what you posted. I know you posted this to make a point, but if you did know someone or were even talking about a celebrity that was extremely overweight there would be nothing wrong with voicing your concerns.

If I posted a thread title that simply said: Melissa McCarthy and the body of the thread read: That girl is too fat! Are you saying I wouldn't get raked over the coals on the Dis? Aside from Fire Dancer, would there be one single person on the Dis that wouldn't call me out?

Not too thin

I think we are just accustom to seeing overweight people, since over half of the US population is overweight.

Now, I'll say that Matthew McConaughey is a little on the thin side for my taste.
