I did not know where to post this so if it is in the wrong place please forgive me and feel free to move it. :thumbsup2

We will likely be taking quite a few gift cards with us on our trip. I would like some ideas as to how you all keep track of your gift cards. Do you just keep them in a wallet or a container of some kind and lock them in the safe. Obviously I am not going to feel safe carrying around hundreds of dollars worth of Gift Cards on my person, but at the same time I am sort of uncomfy with locking them in a room safe as well.

I would appreciate any ideas as to how you all do this. Thanks!

If you're staying on site, you could just charge things to your room and pay the balance with the gift cards. I think you can even apply the cards when you check in, to have a credit on your account.

Just don't wait until the end of the trip, when they have already run your credit card! That happened to me last trip, but luckily it was only one $25 card I had wanted to use.

When we had our trip last August, I logged our cards on the Disney GC app. I numbered each card with a sharpie on the front top corner. I usually left the cards in the safe and used the KTTW card for charges. Then I would pay off the balance with GC's or traveler's checks every couple of days.

I would do as the others suggested and charge to your room, then pay the balance every few days with giftcards. I would leave the gc locked in the safe. We always leave our wallets (minus our IDs, one credit card and debit card each), the bulk of our cash (we each carry $20-30 for incidentals), car keys and other items in our safe. We've never felt the items were at risk in any way. Many of the resorts use keys for the safes, so we lock it and carry the key. I've never seen anything disturbed, ever.

I have found it super easy to use the sharpie method...

Also easy to go and use for room charges.

Thanks everyone who has responded! Those are wonderful ideas. I think I like the idea of charging to the KTTW card and paying off every couple days with the GC that would make it much easier. I guess I am just always nervous about leaving anything of value in a hotel safe, you want to trust people but you just never know. But since others have used them with no issues Ill go ahead and give it a whirl.:thumbsup2

Charge it to your room or use a Sharpie! I was doing a small post it note but those can slip off.

Also, be sure to make a photocopy of the back of your gift cards -- in the event they are lost/stolen, Disney will replace them...

If using Disney Gift Cards, get the Disney Gift Card app. It keeps track of your cards in real time. You enter each card into the app and name each card whatever you want. I use numbers so I write on the card, with a Sharpie, 1, 2, 3, etc. The app will then tell you what is on each card and will show you the current balance as you use them. It will make your life so much easier!

I like that idea too! Its neat that they have so many useful apps. Where do you download that app at?

I did not know they offered replacement for lost or stolen GC. Great idea! :thumbsup2

What should I do if my Disney Gift Card is lost or stolen?
Promptly call 1-877-650-4327 to report the card lost or stolen. Your Disney Gift Card will be 'frozen' and funds remaining on the card (at the time of the call) can be transferred onto a new card. An original proof of purchase receipt for the Disney Gift Card is required to transfer the funds onto a new Disney Gift Card.

We used lots of gift cards on our trip in March. I used the Disney Gift Card app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/disney-gift-card/id402337389?mt=8 to keep track of the balances and little Post It notes to label the cards. I only brought a few gift cards to the parks each day and left the rest in the safe of our off site hotel.
