Keeping track of items

Has anybody come up with a good system that they are willing to share that helps them keep track of items in VMK like all their pins, clothes or furniture. Maybe an Excel worksheet or Word document. I have become some what of a pack rat and while I keep all the same type of furniture in my store trooms I would like to keep an inventory of furniture and what room it is in.

This is one of my chair rooms, while all the items are chairs I can not think of an easy way to track items while allowing me to use them in rooms other than storage.

I just use Excel and color code items I have, and then another column for # of spares

I have a VMK notebook. I keep track of all of my mules, their birthdays and passwords and also their credits. I also have a list of cheaters or people that I want to avoid. Because so many names are similar it was getting confusing who was who. I made notes about certian items my friends need and if I find it I can either trade for it or message them and the most valuable tool and the one that changes all the time is the inventory.

I only carry two of each costume on me. With all the new items it makes it difficult to find things quickly and I found this really helps. So I have mules set up that hold certian items. I have one for pins and one for each major costume. I have a yellow dress mule, one for pink etc. Since I bought 30 of each costume it got really confusing but I keep track. Any time I am playing I can look at my inventory and know if I can trade something.

I have what I call junk rooms for furniture that I don't need and I have a general description of what is in each room so it makes it easy to find things. One room is teleporters and crates, another things from the emporium etc.

Then I have a map of my rooms. Right now I have 16 linked rooms so it helps me know where I am in the teleporter network.

I look at my notebook all the time and it really helps me keep everything straight. Of course I know that it is uber anal but I am willing to face that title. Some things just bring out the organizer in me.

OK. This may be a very stupid question but I am going to ask it anyways. How did you get so many credits to afford to get 30 costumes?

You know I'm normally very organized- and I'm fighting the urge to do just what you are doing lol- I do have three store rooms right now one is rugs, one is chairs, and the other is all the other stuff

But I do need something for pins and costumes- guess a spread sheet needs to be done

I take inventory by taking screenshots of the item as carried, or in rooms.

For pins I paste the croped section of pins I hold, (currently 7 shots in to word and print it out), then as I trade I cross them off.

For the rest I started with excel, but gave up, too much work for a game I use to try and relax. (After all it is all that kind of organization and work I am trying to escape!!)

I do everything in pencil because it is changing every day lol!

How I got the credits...well I work on the computer at home so I can have VMK running all day and I can play it when I am on the phone or doing things that only take a percentage of my brain. I am able to really add a lot of credits that way.

I also have two characters running at once so I get double the credits if I am crashing boats on the jungle cruise.

I really put a big dent in my credit banks during those events.

I also have made a mule or two during events!
