Keeping laptop in room at ASMo?

Ok sorry i wasn't clear i don't at any time want it stored(baggage services)or transfered by anyone but me. I would like to find out if it can be locked up behind the main desk in a safe until i can come back and secure it in my room. Thanks for you help.

I lived in a hotel for 3 weeks while I was looking for a place to live in my new town. It was never stolen or even moved by housekeeping for that matter. But after reading about the issues at Disney when items go "missing" and they fail to do anything about it, I think I'll hide it somewhere.

We took our laptop last May and downloaded all of our photos each night into a folder set up for each day of the trip, this made it easy to track what we did each day. Also it allows you to view the photos each night to see what is good and what you may need to retake.

As for storage we took several cards but only used one since we cleard it each night. i took about 100 photos a day (7 days).

During the day i stored the laptop in a drawer and wraped a pair of pants around it - but it was never bothered.

If you are really worried get the lock but i really think it will be ok. Dont get another card (when will you need it agian) take the laptop and download each night.

If you are bringing the laptop to transfer pictures to there are a few other options.

1. My mother is going with us and has a kodak digital camera with the kodak printer/dock. She's taking that with her and plans on printing pics out at the end of the day/in the morning. ( Didn't say it was the best idea ).

2. I have been buying memory cards by watching any number of online shopping deal websites. Waiting for good prices and rebates to get more memory cards cheap.

3. Products like vosonic's xs drives can be used. DISCLAIMER - I have heard about this but never used one. It's a portable hard drive with memory card slots, you plug the cards in and they transfer the data/pics to the hard drive. Only limited by the size of the hard drive. They have them in large sizes 20gb or more. Some of them are also able to be used as mp3 players. It's small enough to hide in your luggage. Again, I have no experience with these but thought I'd pass this along.

4. On other threads, it is mentioned that there are places in and near WDW where you can have your pics transferred to a cd-rom for a fee. It's high in the park, but cheap Apx $4 per cd-rom at some of the local pharmacies/stores. If you do this, just ask to check the disk . I've heard stories of people who have done this at places that weren't the best and ended up with bad discs.
