Airbornne didn't work for me either, nevermind it's a disgusting Alka-Seltzer fizzy mixture.
One thing we do before trips is cut off any playing with other kids for two weeks prior (my kids aren't in school yet). Thankfully I have twins, so they have built in playmates.
