Ugh. I'm reading so many of these negative posts and has me a little bummed about our upcoming vacation in May. It's not cheap and I'm hoping to have a magical time. Our kids are looking forward to riding rides, meeting characters, and we look forward to building memories. Reading about the closures, layoffs, ticket prices, security, and lacking of service/magic. I just thought we could have a post on some recent great experiences and comments about what you are excited to experience this year.

I'm looking forward to: hopefully getting my youngest dd 1st haircut. All have had their 1st at Disney. Riding everything in MK that we can. Having our princess crazy daughter meet some princesses. Relaxing at the resort. (as much as one can with 4 kids)

Also going in May and very much looking forward to it. Expecting lots of firsts -- F&G, including a no kids night to see Night Ranger, staying at YC and walking to Epcot, using park hoppers, DS doing JTA and meeting Kylo Ren, DD5 meeting E&A and riding things she was too short for last time, 7DMT, EE, RnR, updated TT -- and more relaxation and pool time with a longer stay.

I feel better already!

We are going in March and are looking forward to lots of fun things! We've booked the Behind the Seeds tour as well as the Marceline to Magic tour. We love the Fantasia mini golf, will be going to Blizzard Beach and are hoping to get in another Disney Quest visit before they close. We are looking forward to eating at some great restaurants, pool time at Stormalong Bay and generally enjoying life in the Disney bubble!

We are here now and don't have many complaints. Busy school break week and we've accomplished a lot. Buses are running smoothly. Everyone has been nice. No reason you won't have a great vacation.

I finally rode Dumbo for the first time in my life, so that was my first.

We're going in March for the first time in 17 years, so as long as the castle and Spaceship Earth are standing and there are animals at AK and Star Wars stuff at HS, I'm freaking excited! Here's a more specific list of what I'm looking forward to:

1. Business Class room at CSR
2. Rope drop welcome show at MK
3. BOG breakfast on Easter morning
4. Seeing La Nouba
5. Star Wars fireworks
6. Meeting Kylo and Chewie
7. IllumiNations
8. Wishes
9. All the critters at AK
10. Flower & Garden stuff at Epcot
11. Quick service dining plan
12. Refillable mugs
13. All the classic rides at MK
14. The pool at CSR
15. Lakeside hammocks at CSR

And the list goes on!

We're going in March too and can't wait. After many, many visits, there are still things we haven't done. Looking forward to doing campfire s'mores and eating at Teppen Edo (among other things). If anything, it's a time to find new experiences to enjoy. Break out of your norm!

We swung by for a quick visit in January and went through security. No problem at all. The guards were super friendly and joked around with us.

We just had an amazing trip a few weeks ago! My two boys were in heaven with all the new Star Wars stuff. They were so excited for Jedi training and trading with a Jawa. We finally made a point to see Lights, Motor, Action since its leaving soon. Ended our HS day with the Star Wars fireworks... Easily the best fireworks I have ever seen!

We also did Pirates and Pals cruise this time, which we all absolutely loved. Finally, my 4 yr old was finally 40 inches and had his first rides on Star Tours, BTMR, and Splash. All in all an awesome trip!

We are another May family, and can't wait!! We have been several times, but this will be the first trip that my son is tall enough to ride Space, RnR and EE!! He is beside himself with excitement. It will also be everyone's first time to ride 7DMT. We are disappointed about Soarin' and BTMR, but the reality is that we have never been when something wasn't closed, and we never have time to do everything, anyway. We certainly aren't going to let that spoil our fun. We feel incredibly blessed to be able to enjoy the time together in The World!

This time next week we will be landing at MCO!!!

I am so excited! We listened to MK loops this morning on the way to school. I am packing our bags this weekend!

Looking forward to..

• First trip alone with my daughters
• Doing things a little less planned this time, I usually have us rushing around on a schedule but now on our 3rd time I feel we can relax more
• Staying in Little Mermaid rooms!!!
• Watching Wishes on arrival day
• Akershus breakfast on my daughters' bday
• BOG breakfast on departure day
• Not having to drive...flying this time!
• The looks on my daughters' faces!!!
• Brioche ice cream sandwich in France
• A few hours alone in MK while kiddos are at Poly kids club
• Meeting characters
• Seriously, this list will never end

We returned about a month ago (and I still miss it!) from a great trip. Granted we went at a low crowd time, but even on the heavier crowd days, we found it totally doable. Spent 12 hours at DHS, so there is still plenty to do there despite what everyone says, especially if you're a Star Wars fan (and the fireworks are absolutely not to be missed!). My DS discovered a love for roller coasters, and rode Space Mountain, which I never thought he'd do. He also got picked to fight Captain Jack Sparrow at the Pirate Tutorial (?) in MK. We had some great dining experiences, including Garden Grill breakfast in Epcot, which is one of our new favorites. Went on Kilimanjaro Safaris in the pouring rain and saw more animals than we have ever seen before. We stayed at AKL, and never experienced any bus issues, except on the way to Disney Springs (I think those issues are pretty much unavoidable right now no matter where you're coming from or how you're getting there!). We were able to meet up with some dear friends, as well as with some family members who are wintering in Florida this year. All in all, it was just a really awesome trip.

We went this past August, and had a fantastic time. We were able to ride everything we wanted, some of them multiple times! We had many great meals, and found a new favorite spot - Ohana!
Next trip won't be for a while, but we've already decided that one of our new things for that trip will be to go to 1900 Park Faire, and another will be to try Test Track. (DD wasn't quite tall enough this time - so we just skipped it for all of us).
I'm sure we'll think of other firsts, but part of the fun is the planning, and we're going to keep thinking about it!!

We had a total dream of a vacation two weeks ago. Good planning led to us being able to do everything we wanted and then some without long waits, lots of little special moments happened, we never felt rushed or pushed past the point of exhaustion, and other guests were nice 95% of the time (I'm looking at you, lady that muscled your way right in front of me and my son halfway through the castle show). CMs were so kind. They provided a few special moments I can think of off the top of my head: 1) DS4 got pressed coins on two different occasions for no particular reason, they just gave them to him, 2) both boys were given cupcakes that we didn't order from Flame Tree, the CM said that Mickey left them for the boys, 3) mousekeeping arranged the boys' toys in a cute display on the last day there. A BTMRR CM made my day magical by finding my phone that fell out of my pocket on the ride. We hugged.

I went in prepared to be annoyed by rude people and everyone (ok, nearly everyone) was awesome. I expected to have to skip attractions or wait forever and we didn't have to. I hadn't been to WDW in 12 years so I was expecting it to be not quite as easy or magical as it used to be, and that just wasn't the case. Sure, we missed Soarin, and Buzz, and Kali, but we never felt like we were missing out on huge chunks of Disney. We brought good attitudes coupled with realistic expectations and had the best time in the world.

First, people are more likely to complain than to praise, that's just human nature. As for your request for positive experiences, wifey and I have had so many good ones that I can't single out one over another. In fact, in yearly trips starting in 1999 I'm hard pressed to come up with a negative one.

Try not to pay attention to the negative posts. You will have a wonderful time, especially if you focus on the good, have a good plan, allow for flexibility! DH and I just came back from our first trip without kids, and we experienced some new restaurants, new rides, cheerful cast members, and enjoyed our trip.

We didn't focus on any of the things that were closed while we were there, the construction (this actually excited me because I think of what's coming!), the fact that it rained 4 of the days we were there and it was so chilly that I never went without my winter coat, or anything that might not have gone as planned.

I am already trying to plan my next trip back!! (as usual )

I like how you think! It actually reminded me that one of my favorite moments was on our last day at MK, when it was raining all evening. We sat outside Pecos on a poncho and ate dinner in the rain, waiting for MSEP and crossing our fingers that it would still go on (it did, about 15 minutes late). I can't even really put my finger on why I enjoyed that moment so much, really. We could have complained about being wet and left early but instead we smiled and remembered that we were at Disney and nothing was going to wipe the smiles off our faces.

We (DH, DS and I) were just there in December and had a great time. It was the first time I'd had a Dole Whip, which melted all over me because it was unually HOT for December but I didn't care!! Our first time on 7DWMT and we loved it. Also our first ride on Living With The Land. It was a fanatastic trip. We are smiling from ear to ear in every photo.

Now I'm just waiting for the fall 2017 cruise dates to come out so I can book one for my 25th wedding anniversary.

Honestly, I think if you go into your trip with a negative mindset (not really sure how that's possible with Disney, but to each their own), you will actively look for negative things throughout your trip. If you go in with a positive attitude, you will have more of a positive view on everything.

I was there last July and had a blast, and am about to go again May. Sure, I'm disappointed about BTMRR and Soarin', but it's certainly not going to ruin my trip. I just view closures as things I anticipate for next time: for example, Pirates was closed for me back in July, but it looks good for May, etc

We had one of our most magical trips in January. Really truly a perfect trip from start to finish. Stayed at Kidani Village (awesome), had excellent food, and had amazing CM service. We've been to WDW countless times, and I'm a former CP. we celebrated our DD's first birthday and it was her first trip. It was really one of our best trips. Literally zero complaints from
our party of 9.
