Keeping dry on Kali River Rapids?

Take some plastic bags and wrap 'em up! :rotfl: Or you can bring flip flops when you visit AK...so you can do flip flops on the ride, then switch back to your normal shoes after.

That's a good idea!

That'll make my family happy if I get a pair of freakin' Crocs they are all so crazy about. :rotfl:

Getting drenched is different than staying drenched. I think it's fun to get wet on the ride itself, but as others have said, it's not fun to walk around the park wet for an hour or more. This time, we rode with ponchos because the weather was still a little cool for a good drenching. We also wore the same ponchos on Splash Mountain when it was late at night and about 50 degrees out - no fun being even a little bit wet when it's cold out!

:confused3 PONCHO!? YOU DON’T NEED NO STINKING PONCHO!:lmao:
If you don’t like getting wet to soaked I wouldn’t ride the ride! JMHO
The fun my DW, 2 DD’s and I have on the ride is to see who is going to get SOAKED!
If you find yourself going backward down the main rapid – you are going to get drenched! My 2 DD’s love it! WE really enjoy first time riders who don’t have a clue! :scared1: We usually go in August :goodvibes so it is very refreshing. We have also found that if there is no line to get on, the CM at the top of the ramp when you get off the ride will let you make a quick U-TURN and get back on the ride! :dance3: This is usually first thing in the morning or late in the day about a half hour before closing.:woohoo:

Honestly unless you wrap every inch of your body in plastic wrap, you will get wet some degree. I bought me and my sons ponchos last year, and I was really excited thinking we wouldn't get wet. We went on the first time, and the water still found a way in, even though the ponchos were tucked in all around us.

If you are the one seated with your back facing the falls, when you go over the dip, you will get really wet poncho or not. My one son had the hood of his poncho knocked off, he wet to put it back on and it was full of water, so he drenched himself :lmao: . We rode eight times in a row last year because it was a walk on ride with no wait, and I told the boys I wasn't going to get soaked again so they better ride all they wanted.

You can try wrapping your feet in a separate poncho, but you might be better off just carrying extra shoes.

I don't mind me getting wet - especially on a hot day, at the end of the day - but how do you keep your camera dry?

Don't ride. LOL!

I wear Tevas when out & about in the summer so my feet getting wet isn't a big deal b/c they dry quickly. The same can be said for Crocs - I just can't personally wear them. ;)

I never wore a poncho and never got soaked or even more than slightly wet until we went two Dec ago! For the first time I was so drenched that water squeezed out everytime I moved for the next hour. :rotfl2: After that I gave up and went back and changed clothes. DH and DD spent the next month laughing at how wet I had gotten for the first time. They figured I was due. I haven't gone on it since and it is 14 months later. Maybe this summer when it is hot and crowded I will try it again. Debby
