Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the heavy doors propped open on connecting rooms? We are leaving in a few days and I'm thinking of buying some door stops for our doors. Will they work?

What ship are y'all on? pirate:

The larger rubber door stops will work. Just nothing too flat to the ground.

From other reports, the doors on the dream usually stay open by themselves pretty well. pirate:

That might depend on the amount of rocking the ship is doing....:confused3
Sometimes, we've been able to prop the doors open with a trash can, other times, with more motion, the door slams shut.

We just got back from the Magic. We propped the doors open with a sock (best I could think of at the time! lol). Went to dinner and came back to find our room host had put the little brown door stops in place for us. I would just ask your host if they have them (if you forget your own).

On the Dream, we had no problem keeping the doors open by themselves (and shutting them when we wanted some privacy.)

same here...they kinda of locked open but at bed time we left them cracked and I dont recall them ever moving.

We have had connecting rooms on the Dream, Magic and Wonder. In every case we have asked our steward for the door stoppers and they are happy to supply them. You don't need to go buy your own.

Hmm... Now I have to call and ask for connecting rooms (if they still have them)... I love all of the information I have gotten off of this site!:yay:

On the Dream, our connecting doors had magnets on the bottom that held them open (as long as you opened them all the way). We had no problems with the doors staying open when we needed them. Also, it was great to have the verandahs connected as well! (Just ask your stateroom host to unlock the divider!)

We had them on the Dream this summer and, like other posters, they stayed open. At night we closed them to a crack and it worked great!!! Whatever they did in designing these to stay open...kudos!!!:thumbsup2

We had connecting rooms on the dream and even under really rough waves the doors stayed open.

Does anyone here have a picture of the cabins with the connecting doors open? Would like to see it, because we have never done this before and we are going to have it on the Dream next march!!!:thumbsup2
