Keeping a rental car longer than original reservation?

We are not frequent car renters but I have one for this trip as DH really wants to take a day trip to the Space Center and I also felt it would be nice to hit a grocery store at the start of our trip. I got a weekly rental through Alamo that we will pick up at MCO on Sat 9/23 and return to the Dolphin Hotel in DTD on Fri 9/29 or Sat 9/30. We then plan on taking Magical Express to the airport on Mon morning 10/2, the day of our departure.

My question is what if we decide to keep the rental the extra 2 days? My intention is of course NOT to do this but I also want to know what the policy is in case something comes up and we don't get to DTD on those days as planned. I got a good weekly rate ($111 for midsize, ttl, out the door) and I would hate to loose that rate if I end up keeping the car. Would Alamo cancel this rate and develop a new contract based on current prices or would they just add additional fees for each day I am late returning the car and at leaast honor my original "weekly" rate?

Do not simply keep the car without written permission otherwise the rental company reserves the right to rewrite the entire contract at current rates if these rates are higher.

You can always return the car on time and go back around and rent another car which you may or may not have reserved on line as little as a day in advance.

Thank you. I was not sure how that worked and I certainly do not want them to rewrite our contract. I will definitely get the rental car back on time.

Usually if you keep it after the return time then they start sharging you for each day for what the price is then. I wouldnt keep it without telling them or talking to them. More than likely you will wind up with a nasty surprise that way.
