Keep Long-Shot waitlist or waitlist a more do-able room?

Experienced DVC guests: What would you do / suggest?

All of the below are 1 BR Villas Standard. My spouse myself, an 22 year old kid and a 7 year old kid. Our arrival day is a resort day after a lonnnnng day of driving.

Ok, so... Finally got my first DVC resale contract (probably not my last) and the points were loaded in after the 7 month booking window had already come and gone for an already planned trip. My DVC Vacation Advisor helped me book 5 of the 7 nights I wanted. At Saratoga - it is what it is.

I had already waitlisted my week at my home (BWV) which I realize is a long shot, as the week we'll be in WDW is the last week of Food & Wine.

My DVC VA castmember also waitlisted the two days (weekend) of my arrival at Saratoga that weren't available at time of booking. My backup is to keep my already booked room on Hourglass Lake for the first two days if my waitlist doesn't come up.

Today I noticed - and booked - a Sunday night stay at AKL Kidani. I can still stay one night at Pop or AoA, but I have points that I can use for our Saturday arrival if a room opens up.

Here are my waitlist options:

1) Keep "Longshot" week at BWV
2) Keep Saratoga 2-day

3) Replace one of the above with Saturday at AKL Kidani
4) Keep checking back for a Saturday anywhere.
5) Stay at Pop or AOA on arrival night.

Something else?

Thanks for your input!

We don't like split stays, so I'd vote for keeping the longshot week at BWV and the 2 nights at Saratoga. When it comes to split stays, we prefer 3 nights in one and 4 in another, but will do 2 and 5 if we have to. We've done 1 nighters, and they're not for us.

Second. I loathe split stays. We did 1-7-1 once because of some airline shenanigans that made us change our flight dates, and I vowed never again.

I'd keep the 2 night SSR and change the BWV to the 1 night at Kidani. Then once you get all your nights covered then you could do a 7 night waitlist for BWV and if you were ok with it a second waitlist that is for 2 or 3 night either at the start or end. And if that matches set up a new waitlist to add on to that. At the same time, if you have enough points you could book up any BWV nights that become available and try and build out that way. Just depends on if you want to do that work or let the waitlist work.

When were the dates, exactly? It's nuts that you can't find ANY one bedroom availability.
Yeah, if I waited another day, I would have had to keep my cash reservation and lose the banked points. There weren't even bungalows at Poly left today.

Welcome home. Whoever is sleeping on the couch bed will definitely like the one at SSR over the others. It has a real mattress. The SSR rooms were just refurbished and are very nice. BWV and AKV are nice too. Waking up at AKV with giraffes outside is amazing. Keep on stalking many have better results than waiting on the waitlist.

Waitlist the 2 nights at SSR and waitlist the 1 remaining night at Kidani. Get all your nights covered and then go from there.

The chances for a whole week opening up at BWV for food and wine is less than the other 2 options.

That makes sense. While I will enjoy the heck out of F & W - that's not the reason for going. We'll have to snag our home resort on another trip.

Update:

Booked: Arrival Nights 1-2 at AKL Jambo.
Booked the rest at Saratoga

I couldn't figure out how to waitlist a full-length stay that would replace both the split stays. (If you know how, please let me know.)

So I waitlisted the 2nd half of the trip with my long shot resorts on crescent lake.

The refunded deposit from my booked hotel rooms becomes part of our snacks at the parks budget.

I love split stays. Disney moves your luggage, or just take an Uber. It’s not like this is a huge deal, and you don’t have a 2 year old who has to nap. Ita just luggage. It’s all good! Just split stay and try something else.

And yea, I’ve gotten things by stalking and not waitlist, which makes no sense, but hey, disney.

I think I'll like it too. What has been your experience with having bell services move the luggage?
