Keep hanging the laundry or appease the neighbors

She's got a lot of nerve! I would keep hanging the laundry out. With all the problems in the world, she's offended by your laundry? :confused3 Some people have too much time on their hands.

I'd keep hanging it and if you are close with you other neighbors ask if they would start too just to annoy her even more.

That's the funny thing. The guy on her other side hangs his out, too, but he hasn't started yet for the season. When he starts, she's going to be surrounded by ugly laundry!

I would of given anything to see underwear hanging on the line next door instead of the extremely large hairy butt that my neighbor liked to show off every summer. She should be thank full

Tell them to mind their own business and do what you want. It isn't hurting anything.

You know, I don't normally come onto the CB, but this caught my eye!

What nerve! Keep hanging it and tell her to build a fence if she doesn't like it. :thumbsup2

I am just shaking my head at this... Wow.

I think you are already obviously being very polite with your laundry - hanging the lingerie in the middle for example. I assume you also take it down fairly promptly? It also sounds like it's not anywhere near her property line. You've gone above and beyond - keep hanging it out!

She should be thanking her lucky stars if this is her only neighbor issue! I can't imagine daring to even bring something like this up to someone.

:thumbsup2 My first thought was that I would move the clothesline closer to her property line!
That would be my first thought too :rotfl2:

As long as there aren't any covenants, either hoa or town, I wouldn't give it another thought.

And you don't owe her any explanation either. Just say that you thought it over and that you prefer line-dried clothes. And leave it at that. The more reasons you give her why you are doing it, the more ammunition you give her to argue with you.

If she wanted to live in a no-laundry zone, she should have picked a place with a HOA that forbids that kind of thing.

I love hanging laundry due to the environmental impact, less wear and tear on the clothing, and how nice they dry after hanging.

Good luck with your new neighbor. I wouldn't budge an inch on the laundry. I suspect no matter what you do she will have issues so you may as well live your life. She will adapt.

Keep on hanging. Tell neighbor you considered it and you decided that saving money on your electricty won.

Tell her that she should try it! And then sing the praises of it.

Does she allow you to mow the lawn, take a sun bath or barbecue?:lmao:
Stop it and ignore her now or she will be giving you "orders" for the rest of your live.

Hang it. Hang more of it. Maybe put some pink flamingoes up around the line to boot...and a big sign that says "Quit Looking into my backyard".

:lmao:

wow..what a piece of work she must be. None of her concern. do you have any trees that will block it out once they get their leaves? Here nobody can see in our yard April- September ;)

because I've gotta--

:laundy:

Let it hang, bay-beeee! :laundy::laundy::laundy::laundy::laundy::laundy:

No way, no HOW would I ever approach a neighbor over this!!!

We have neighbors who shovel their driveway straight out into the road in front of our house so the plow turns it over into our driveway (the plow always goes the same way around our circle) and I can't even work up the nerve to ask them to stop doing THAT - and it actually impacts us because WE have to shovel their snow out of our driveway once the plow comes! To think someone would immediately complain about laundry when it is obviously the norm in the neighborhood....grrr.

?!?! The nerve of some people. Keep hanging, and keep saving $$$, and keep being environmentally friendly. I wish I was able to hang laundry here!

:thumbsup2 My first thought was that I would move the clothesline closer to her property line!

Mine too! I'd be moving my clothelsine to her side of my house and hanging laundry...skivvies on the outside...

In all seriousness, she sounds like one of those people who thinks she should runt he neighborhood. I have a neighbor like tat...give her an inch, she taks a mile and thinks she is going to dictate to me what I do in MY yard and house. The last time we got into it I told her that when she was paying my mortgage and all my bills she could tell me what to do, but until then, MY house, MY rules. We don't have a HOA in our neighborhood.

Nip it in the bud now, or she'll think she can dictate everything to you.

Nervy for someone who just moved into a neighborhood.
