We will have a short WDW visit (4 days) so I can only choose one. Currently we have an ADR (dinner) for the Crystal Palace, but was thinking I would really like to check out the Poly and have dinner there as well. We can not get a ADR for the Ohana's, so now am wondering about Kona? Party is for 1 adult, 1 tween, 1 teen. I originally chose the CP to maximize our time at MK. CRO is saying allow 1 hour to travel from MK to the Poly - huh???? Any recommendations. THANKS!:goodvibes

First of all it is only 5-10 minutes maximum to get to Kona/PR from MK take monorail or boat dedicated trip not even an issue

Second Love love love Kona especially the deserts they are worth the trip everytime - they are works of art

Third Ask your teen and/or tween if they are interested in the characters (Pooh and friends) if so stay with CP if not definately go with Kona and let them wonder around PR main areas my DD makes that a trip in its self

Kona is one of my favorites. It will take about 15-20 minutes to get to dinner from inside the MK. The actual travel time is probably only about 10 minutes, but you have to walk to the monorail and there may be a short wait. I love the poly and the kona. The only thing is if you want to maximize time in the park, it is definately faster to have dinner at the crystal palace. Though if you've been there all day, by dinner you may be quite happy to leave for a while. I would check what time the park is opened to that night. If its pretty late, it will be more than fine to leave for dinner and enjoy the poly and then head back after dinner. You may even want to take the boat back to the MK from the dock - its a beautiful ride and you will feel like you had a nice break.

On a kona note, we just tried the sushi there for the first time and it was excellent.

We always go to both Kona and Crystal Palace but if I had to choose only one it would definitely be Kona.

As for travel time, definitely not one hour. On our trip last week I jumped on the monorail at the Poly, road to the MK, did some shopping on Main Street, watched Wishes from the bottom of Main Street, and back on the resort monorail to the Poly all in less than one hour. The trip from the Poly to MK is about 10 minutes, while the trip back is about 15.

I would suggest you leave yourself about 30 minutes on your way there for exiting MK and taking the monorail. You will most likely arrive early for your ADR but chances are you will be seated early. We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated within 5 minutes on our last trip.

I would let the others choose and go with the majority. I personal go for Kona's in a big way. I will be trying CP this next trip but I also have a night and a morning for Kona's as well. I want to try CP for Dinner been for Breakfast and really enjoyed it. The trip from MK to Poly should only take about 30 Min. Hop on Monorail or take the Boat Launch.

We did CP last month and the food was good, the desserts were not and the place was super duper loud and packed with people.

I would go for Kona because it is just DH and I...we prefer CP for breakfast

Thank you all for your replies. We will be there in Jan. 09, so the park will close @8:00p.m.:sad1: and, I absolutely love the MK!!! So I wanted to max our time there, 4 parks, 4 days and most likely will go commando only at MK and Epcot (yeah right!!!). My kids 9&13 havn't been alot of help in the planning. My 13yo DS says, yeah I like pooh, no I don't care, you know what I like Mom; Mexican, Asian, Italian and American - which leaves me wide open, and my 9 yo DD who will be eating off the kids menu, hardly eats. If I could afford it, I would like to stay at the Poly, but we have choosen a Mod instead, so I would love to just run over to see it, but with my kids I would have to entice them with a reason to go over and I am definately not leaving my kids alone in the park - but can't say it hasn't crossed my mind:rotfl:. Don't know why this decision is weighing so heavy on me - oh yeah, I know, I am DIS obsessed. BTW, we can get Ohan'a, but @7:10, so by the time we eat the park will have closed and heaven forbid I miss out on those last sweet minutes, when the crowd thins and we might get to ride on our favorite one more time. Thank you guys for letting me obsess with you. I am feeling the Disney love!!!:hippie:

Have you guys ate at Cp before?

I can't wait to try Kona cafe so I vote for Kona. We have ate at CP before and love it there so I say maybe eat there if you have not eaten there before. It is cute...I like Breakfast better there though.

We have never eaten any CP, Kona or Ohana, but they all sound good. Last time in Disney I stayed off-site and did mostly CS meals. It will be a first trip for my 9yo and I took my DS when he was five. He has a great picture of himself and Pooh in his room and only vaguely remembers the trip, so I have been waiting  to take my DS at an age so that she can remember. FYI- when I lived in No. CAL. I went to Disneyland 1-2 per year and knew the park layout, better than most. What can I say, I'm a 50 year old kid!!!:yay:

Aww then eat at CP!

Is there a way that you can eat at both?
