Keep Chef Mickey ADRs?

We have ADRs for CM on our second night. I'm torn on whether or not to keep it. We're basically doing it to see the big cheese, and for the atmosphere, but wouldn't mind having a good meal too.
We went there for breakfast last time, and thought the food was average. Is dinner good? How's the food, variety?
Does anyone have any other suggestions for dinner CM that are buffets?
We have a 3yo dd, and 9mo dd(who probably won't care where we eat ;) ).
Is the CM at MGM good? We would like another dinner ADR, which may be cutting it close as it's for 9/5, so we may not have the choice to change anyway.
We are already doing:
1900 Park Fare for B/D
CP for B at 8:05a, before park opening!

It will be an AK day and we have park hoppers, so we can travel to any other park. Plus we have a rental car that can help with travel times.
Thanks for any ideas/thoughts.

If you are looking for a good meal, Chef Mickey's is not the place. It's a basic buffet and IMO not that good. You can catch up with the Big Cheese at Toontown instead. I suggest 'Ohana (kind of like a buffet) or Cape May.

Chef Mickey's really isn't that good. The food is pretty medicore, and I really wasn't too impressed with the atmosphere or service on our last trip there. The variety of food offered is ok, but the food itself wasn't the best. I don't think it's worth it, especially if you aren't on the dining plan, to pay that much for a meal that really isn't too good.

The Liberty Tree Tavern is a really good family style character dinner. They bring you large platters of each of the items to share, and then are constantly willing to give you more when needed. It isn't buffet, but we really enjoy it. The food is very traditional- roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes, etc. but very good. The characters are Minnie, Goofy, and I think Chip and Dale. The atmosphere is really nice, and the food and characters interacted well with us too.

The Garden Grill at Epcot also offers a character buffet dinner with Mickey. I've never been here, but it's definitely another option in a possibly better restaurant than CM.

I'd keep it. We think the dinner is just fine. Everything was to temperature. They had two dishes we loved, two I really didn't care for. They were fine, just not to my taste. The rest was good. The place was high energy fun when we were there. It was loud but we've found Narcoosee's louder and CA Grill just as loud.
