I was checking the AirTran sight for the current cost of our flight this August to possibly add another seat for my niece. What to my surprise did I see - our flight departing Phila at 2:11 was missing and the closest direct flight time was 5 something PM! I thought "Great" because now I can get an earlier direct flight that was available at 10:30 AM. I checked my itinerary and they already have us scheduled for the 9:06 direct flight. We are basically getting an extra day to spend at Disney!!! This is exactly what I was hoping for. I didn't originally book the earlier flight because it was $120 more per person times 4 people. Everytime I have booked AirTran, my flights have changed between 2 and 4 months of my travel dates. Usually it is the same flight but different times (change by about 1 hour). They have always accomodated me with a flight change of my choice for that day. This is the first time my flight actually changed to a totally different flight and I am not complaining.

Keep checking your flight times folks, especially if booked with AirTran. If your flight has changed, don't panic as they are usually very accomodating if the fligth schedule permits. I fly frequently for work and pleasure and, in my experience, AirTran is the one airline that changes their flights most frequently. That is why I usually do not fly them for work as I am usually on a tight schedule(also because I like assigned seating when I travel for work).

You are a happy camper, glad it worked out for you. Unfortunately, ours have gone the opposite direction.

AT has changed our June flights over 8 hours total, 4 or 5 different times. I "caught" the last one checking for Jan. flights.

When I called them to complain the Rewards CM person just laughed & said I'd better keep checking...they're in the midst of a major re-shuffling of flight times. At least someone was amused.

Wouldn't be so bad if they'd email w/changes. Guess that's above & beyond what a no-frills airline does. BTW, they always did until a year or so ago.

Although it's true that they do "work with you" when they change flight times, it doesn't really help if they've already cut direct flights from several down to 1/day.

I'm thinking positively...45 days & counting.
