Hey all...I'm trying to figure out what size Keens to get for my step son without him being here! He wears a size 2-2.5 in sneakers and regular sandals. I've heard Keens can run a full size too small.

anyone have experience with Keen sizing?

thanks!!! :goodvibes

I just bought some for my son this weekend and we bought an 11, when he usually wears 10 1/2 or 11. I wear Keens as well and I bought mine in 9 when I normally wear a 9 or 9 1/2. They don't seem to run much off standard, in my experience.

To me, they run about a half size small. I am generally a 10 to a 10 1/2 but I need an 11 in Keens. This has been my experience with all of them, I am a Keen shoe addict. :rolleyes1

Just tried on a number of Keens in the last week. Some of the styles were dead on and some were not. And sometimes the material mattered, for instance, I needed a 9 in the leather version and an 8.5 in the nylon version of the exact same style.

Just bought them for my two boys -- a 9 and a 13 -- I got a 10 and a 1 and while they are a little big in the toe, their toes are covered by the toe guard up front, and the "true" size was too exact for my comfort (it is only May, I am thinking all summer/fall) -- they boys were able to run around no problem in the house, no discomfort. I would go up if he is a 1/2 size... These are the Newport shoes. On sale at REI, which is why I got them! :thumbsup2

i got my son keen newport h2 and we got him his normal size after trying on two sizes. He normally wears a size 10 toddler and we tried on 10 and 11 and the 11 was huge so we got the 10. They only run in full sizes for kids so if your child is a half size I would size up.

I believe REI is running a sale on a few of the kids Keens now.

This is exactly what I did -- I bought both sizes 9 and 10 and 13 and 1 in the newport h2, and so my boys must have been in the middle b/c the 9 and 13 were really an exact fit, while the 10 and the 1 had room enough to grow but all toes covered. Same story for my older DS and his foot is narrower. Anyway a good summer shoe no question, a good deal at REI. I hope they will be good for Disney :thumbsup2
