I slept in a little after my late night at Jellyrolls. By the time I was up and out the door on my way to Epcot, it was 10am. I walked over to Test Track and Spaceship Earth, but the wait was too long. It was EMH at Epcot, and normally I would either be there at opening or else I wouldn’t go to that park at all. But I’d already done all the must-do’s for this trip, and my plan for the day was to just hang out at Epcot and do whatever I felt like at the time.

I bought a Diet Coke and sat by the dancing fountain to watch the fountain and the people walking by for a while. I decided to go ride Journey Into Imagination since I hadn’t been on it in the past few trips and I really couldn’t remember much about it. As I walked past Innovations West I noticed there was a new restaurant there, Express Restaurant. I decided I’d try it for lunch after the ride. I rode Journey Into Imagination and thought it was pretty cute. I know many people say it’s not as good as it used to be, but I never saw it before all the changes were made.

I had vegetarian chili at Express Restaurant. It was decent, but the place felt odd, just tables and a counter set up in a big, open space. Maybe it was because they had just opened and hadn’t had time to get set up yet. The CM (who was very nice) said they’d be open during the renovations at The Land, and they’d see what happened after that.

It was 12pm, so I walked over to World Showcase. I watched the holiday storytellers in Norway and Mexico. I really missed The Three Kings in Mexico and felt the new holiday storyteller wasn’t nearly as good. Julenisson was still in Norway though, and I enjoyed seeing him. At 1, I walked over to Canada to catch Off Kilter’s first show. After the show, I bought a Mickey ice cream bar at a stand by Showcase Plaza and found a seat on the railing in front of the Christmas tree so I could watch Epcot Vybe. This was my first time seeing this group. They were very good and a lot of fun. After Epcot Vybe, I walked over to Great Britain and watched British Invasion.

It was a beautiful, sunny day and I was having a great time watching all the performers. I saw all of Off Kilter’s shows that day along with another show by Epcot Vybe, the mime in France (I think he is just so funny and cute!), Mo Rockin, several holiday storytellers, and the acrobats in China.

After Off Kilter’s last show, I stopped by Tangierine Café for dinner then took a final stroll around World Showcase. Then I left Epcot and walked back over to the Swan.

I had not planned to go back to Jellyrolls that evening since I had stayed until closing the night before. But as I was entering the Swan, Tommy and Jason, the piano players, were walking by on their way to Jellyrolls. We talked for a few minutes and they convinced me to come back by that evening.

I went up to the room to relax and freshen up before heading to Jellyrolls. I got there around 8:45 so I could catch the end of Jason and Tommy’s first set, and there were literally three people there: Shorty at the bar (seriously), and Rita and Jim from Virginia at a table on the front row by Tommy’s piano. The guys greeted me as I came in, and I took the same seat I’d had the night before, on the front row by Jason’s piano. For the first hour that I was there, it was just the four of us, so we were chatting with Jason and Tommy, and then Drew and Ray when they came on. When Drew first came out, Rita pointed to me and said, “This is Karen.” Ray looked up and said, “Karen’s friend, Karen.” Drew looked confused, so Ray said, “She’s friends with Karen, you know Karen, she comes here a lot.” I hadn’t told Ray that I was friends with Karen, and he wasn’t there when I was talking to Scotty about Karen the night before, so Scotty must’ve told him either between sets or at the end of the evening.

The crowd started picking up a bit midway through Drew and Ray’s first set, but it never got really busy that evening. It was completely different than the crazy place it was the night before, but still a lot of fun. I requested lots of songs and chatted with all the piano players and the other people who were there. There was a young couple, Amy and Chris, who had just gotten engaged that evening and were there celebrating with their friends Teresa, Amy and Doug. I sat with them for a while and we had a lot of fun requesting songs and singing along. I ended up staying until closing time again. At the end of the evening, I saw Tommy by the bar so I went over and told him thanks for making me feel so welcome. I can’t wait to go back to Jellyrolls when I’m at WDW in May!

Great day, Karen! I'm not surprised that Drew got confused. I don't care to have Drew know who I am. I'll refrain from giving my normal thousand word speech on Drew.

Can't wait to go to Jellyrolls with you in May! That will be some trip report, I'll tell ya :)

Oh, Jenifer, I wish you could come with Karen and me, we'd have so much fun. But trust me, if I can go there and have as much fun as I did all by myself, I just know that you will have fun with your dad, aunt and uncle! :D
