This morning's models of Katrina look great for Central Fl. During the night she shifted south and west. This should put the Hurricane well to the west of Central Fl. As long as she doesn't make an eastern shift earlier, there is nothing to worry about in Central Fl. Just some rain and wind, but not strong winds! The panhandle is another story. The hurricane is predicted to be a cat 2 or 3 when it hits the panhandle.

Althought I'm praying for the panhandle, I'm certainly glad central Florida's getting a break from this one - Especially since I'm leaving tomorrow.

Looks like I"ll be donning the Mickey poncho for just a couple of days.

When--or if--it hits the panhandle. Probably will, but look at what just happened hours ago--took a path they did not expect. All the "evening" models were wrong!!! So anything can happen. In addition, apparently the winds they got in S. Fla. were much higher than predicted.

I think I heard one forecaster term it the "cone of uncertainty"--

What exactly did it do overnight? Did it swing further inward or go more out to sea?

I believe it went due West--or even slightly Southwest. THis morning, the Weather Channel had a guy in Naples Fla. all set to report on the wind and rain. Tuns out he didn't have much to say, as it was barely raining and the winds were rather light.
