Anyone heard anything about the rumors of Disney giving a discount to those of us affected by Hurricane Katrina? As you can see from my counter I probably would not be able to take advantage of it but wondered if these rumors were true.

Hey
How's your family?
How's your house?
Wal-Marts open and the line is not too long.

:rotfl2: LMBO...man, is that the truth!? Except I've YET to see a not-so-bad line at Walmart!
Anyway, I was wondering the same thing about a "Katrina" discount. I wish it would happen. I think everyone around here needs a little vacation at this point! If they offer FL discounts, I don't see why they can't for people in LA, MS, and AL. That would be great.

I'm going to Wal Mart in a few hours... about to put on my armor, my skates, grab the blow horn... and get on my way.
You wouldn't believe the rudeness! This one lady had the nerve to ask my boss in the "express lane" "hm lady it looks like you have more then 20 items in your cart, this is express" and my boss smiled, counted her items and said "nope, I only have 19, thank you" and when she went to check out she paid in three separate orders just so she could piss the rude lady off more...
Another story, this OLD lady was sitting there counting all of her change, well the lady 2 people behind her was all complainning and blowing hot steam... so when the next lady went up to pay (btw, she just had a garage sale) she pulled out her BIG ziploc bag of change, and paid with a smile.

I hate going to wal mart now... it takes 30 minutes just to GET OUT of the parking lot... my ice cream can't make it.. and you know it's sad when wal mart has to close at 6 because they run out of food... our wal mart is a 24 hour and it can't stay open past 9 because they don't have enough employees. Same for the local Wendys, drive thru only because they don't have enough employees...

Wish things would get back to normal... I would love a discount but I heard they were letting people who lived in the area get into disney for free for awhile there... just a "rumor" i heard.. not confirmed.

Where are you? We are in Hattiesburg. Right after the hurricane the lines just to get in the grocery stores were very long. The first time I tried to go to Wal-Mart was the day after I had waited in line 3 and a half hours for gas at Sam’s and I just could not take another hours long line. I ended up waiting about an hour to get in one of the smaller grocery stores that day. Later in the week I went back to Wal-Mart and it was only about a 45 minute wait to get in the store. They were only letting in about 30 people at a time at that point. Even now though it is still crazy to go to Wal-Mart and the shelves are still not stocked.
