Hi everyone, My boyfriend - sorry fiance - popped the question on new years eve - just after the auld lang syne and party poppers had dispersed and I've had the biggest smile on my face ever since I said yes!
I'll introduce us first, I am a teacher working in a secondary school (11 - 18 yrs old) in Leeds, UK teaching textiles, food tech and woodwork. Its pretty hard work and the kids can be a bit of a handful but its a very rewarding job that I love.
George currently has two jobs after suffering in the current financial climate with his previous job, he was only out of work for 6 weeks but it was still a pretty worrying time, however in hindsight it probably was the best thing to have happened to him, he started volunteering at a charity shop and got talking to a woman who worked at a centre for disabled adults and suggested he go there too as he had some free time. After two weeks of volunteering they offered him a part time job! He also works at a pet store chain 'Pets at Home' which is good as we have a cat and two rabbits and he gets a 20% discount - even on the vets fees!! Im very proud of him as he absolutley loves both of his jobs and hasnt looked back.
We first visited WDW together in 2007 after we had been going out for just over a year and a half. I had already been once when I was about 11 with my family and its my favourite place in the world!! We visited again in July '09 for another two weeks and on the monorail into MK one day spotted the wedding pavillion at the Grand Floridian Resort and both agreed it would be a beautiful place to get married.
Since then I had been secretly sneaking peeks at the Disney Wedding Website and keeping my dream alive of the perfect day at WDW. With occassional conversations with george about how wonderful it would be.
Just after midnight on Friday 1st January 2010 after just over four years of being with george, my brother calmed everyone down after the midnight celebrations and said that George had something to say to me, suddenly i was in the middle of a big circle (slightly tipsy i might add!!) and George was down on one knee with a ring box in his hand, I didnt even say anything at first i just jumped on him and cried.
When I finally said yes and had the ring on my finger i was inviting everyone to WDW to share our special day (our guest count is currently at 33!!) - it was a perfect moment and one i'll remember forever.
Our current plans are for August 2011 (we have to go during the school hols because of me being a teacher) and to have a Wishes Wedding at the Wedding Pavillion at the Grand Floridian. As we're only just at the very initial planning stages we're not really too sure of what to expect at the moment with have an initial budget of £15000 and as i said a current guest total of 33 - but that could go up - or down before long!!
Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated as im such a newbie at this!
Thanks in advance
