Hello! Some of you might know me from the restaurant reviews over in the Restaurants board. I'm a "little" curvy, and in the recent past I've done well dieting and exercising, but I've been slacking. I love coming to these message boards, so I'm hoping to get back on track here.

I'm hoping to lose around 40 lbs by Christmas. A good friend from high school is getting married on Dec 30, and I want to look good for people I went to school with. Somewhat of a reunion, I suppose.

I'm not sure how much I weigh, but I suppose I should pull out the scale tomorrow morning. :(

I plan on counting calories and exercising (cardio and weights) 4-5 days a week, if at all possible.

I'm only allowing myself Disney sit down meals to not count calories at, because we're not going to pay the money and not order what we enjoy. But it will be in moderation.

Here's hoping! I feel better when I lose weight, eat healthy, and wear smaller clothes, and I'm going to keep that in mind.

Forever - welcome to the wonderful world of journaling! I have found it to be one of the key components to my weight loss success thus far. Post often for encouragement and support.

I applaud you for incorporating exercise into your new healthy plan and bet you'll drop the weight for that wedding with time to spare! I wish you well on your weight loss journey. :sunny:

Thanks for the encouragement!

Glad to see you're doing SB - FH and I did it in the past, and we feel it's a great diet. Borrowing from it, I want to keep a lot of the "white" carbs out.

Kathleen,

Nice to see you here on the WISH boards. When I first read your post I was concerned that your decision to lose weight and get fit would put an end to the fabulous reviews that I have come to enjoy on the restaurants boards.

Well done for not allowing the fact that you have embarked on a healthier regime to affect your dining enjoyment. I think that is where I have gone wrong in the past because when I start a diet I tend to shut myself away from eating out although I have to say the restaurants we have in Scotland are nothing compared to the ones in Florida.

I have no doubt that you will lose the weight that you want to with some time to spare.

I have found the WISH board to be particularly effective when I am ready to give in and break my diet.

Good Luck.

Thank you, as well, Florence.

One of the things that I've realized from my dieting in the past is that I can't deny myself everything. I did that before and it spectacularly blew up, ending in my gaining back 15 lbs in three weeks.

Plus, my reviews and Disney are one of my great pleasures and stress reducers, and heaven knows I need that!

I definitely will check back in when I feel the desire to break my diet or skip the gym.

Hi Kathleen :wave2: Just wanted to welcome you to WISH! As you already know I love your reviews and think that using your Disney restaurant visits is a wise use of your cheats! :teeth: I think that would definitely help me to stay on track on those days when I was being good. ::yes:: I am also counting calories and try to exercise 3 days a week. I have lost 57 lbs and would like to lose about 37 more and really hope to meet my goal by Christmas as well. ::yes:: Just wanted to wish you lots of luck and remind you to drink lots of water - it will help as well!! :drinking:

*rewinds* I remembered how much I didn't like calorie counting. As long as I keep to the gym and eat healthfully, I don't have to.

So I didn't get to go to the gym today because I have a test tomorrow. But I did eat healthy and am having a small glass of wine as I study.

Whole wheat pasta that's in strand form always tastes gritty.

I've got that water bottle next to me, too!

Ok, I weighed myself this morning. It's not as bad as I feared, but not as good as I'd hoped.

177.8.

I was down to 157.0 last June, so it's somewhat depressing. But I do think that even if I don't get to 40 lbs lost by December, 145 still looks good on me because of my frame (I have a large frame, even though I'm 5'4").

Forever42, welcome to the WISH Journal board!

Your goals are realistic. As long as you are careful about your food and are exercising, you should be lookin' good by that December 30th wedding! ::yes::

Only 8 more years until I join you in Orlando - gotta keep working in PA for now, but we do plan to move in 8 years.

I'm glad you still plan to enjoy all those wonderful Disney restaurants! We can't deprive ourselves of everything!

Best wishes on your journey to healthy living!!

I had another good food day - two in a row now.

FH and I went to Panera and a chose a healthy meal - it's a big step for me.

I was in a cooking mood and made a strata for breakfasts and a bunch of different muffins.

No gym because we're packing and such. I'm hoping that counts as a bit of exercise. Plus I walk around campus quite a bit! It almost adds up to 30 minutes worth.

Weighed myself this morning, and I'm at 176.2. Wow. Now, I know that's just water weight, but I'm pretty happy, especially because I haven't had the time to exercise at the gym while we're packing and I'm studying.

I was going to drag FH to Crystal Palace for dinner tonight, but I'm not so sure now. :( I'd feel like I was messing things up, with also going to Fresh, the Kona Cafe, and the afternoon tea this weekend. I just wanted to squeeze in every little last bit of Disney before I move to Gainesville. I probably won't be back to Orlando for a month, while I'm settling myself.

I'm sorry I really haven't been replying in other journals much, I've been at school most of the week. With this weekend upon us, I'll have more time to peruse this forum.

Congratulations on the weight loss! Who cares if it is water weight or not, it's still an accomplishment! ::yes:: Keep up the good work!

Welcome to WISH journaling!

Congratulations on your weight loss!:Pinkbounc That is great!!!::yes::

It's funny because we are going to WDW in December and we have decided that we want to try some new food experiences. How wonderful that you write restaurant reviews! I'm going to have to go to the Restaurants board and check them out. ::yes::

Best of luck to you on your WISH journey! :sunny:

Bah. So fine, we went to Disney this weekend, and had our meals. And then last night our friends wanted to go out, and it was $1 margarita night at the best Mexican restaurant in Orlando (sorry, it's on the east side). I don't really get hangovers, so... made bad decisions. I don't even feel like eating at all today, I feel so icky. I know that's a bad thing, though.

Sounds like you had TOO much fun! LOL! I hope you have a better day later today or tomorrow! Good luck.
