Anybody been to Kat Kora's (from Iron Chef) restaurant? Looking for something new and thought I'd give her a try.

I ate there three times while on business a few weeks ago. Dinner was "ok"..not fantastic.

Breakfast, I thought, was pretty darn good.

Great service!!

I got their fisherman's stew and loved  loved it! I have read reviews where people thought it was too spicy. I found it to be more flavorful than spicy but I like heat.

It's pretty hit or miss from what I can tell. We loved it in September just before the grand opening, it was our 2nd best meal of the trip (after Jiko, ahead of Narcoossee's). I also had the fisherman's stew and loved it, DH had the lamb, and the service was just outstanding.

I have not got up the nerve or inclination to go there. If the urgency doesn't strike me it usually means it won't.

we ate there on our trip in Aug 09 and it was great. Then we went back in Nov I had to get the calamari again because it was so good the first time very very disappointed it was terrible. first time prepared perfect crunchy not greasy this time breading fell off was tough so they made me another one and it was super greasy. Very upsetting because that is all i cold think about that day before we got there was having an ice cold beer and that great calamari. Will probably give one more try but would not recommend.
:confused3

We have reservations there on our first night and I can't wait. Since we are staying at the Beach Club, I figured it would be a nice night to stroll on over to Kouzzina (her restaurant). IMHO, you need to try everything once. This will be our first time there. You will see a lot of varying opinions here on these boards and you just never know until you try, right??! ;)

My boyfriend and I ate there twice on our last trip, once for breakfast and once for dinner. We each had two great meals there. I wouldn't hesitate to return as there is much more on the menu that piqued my interest. I'd also love to have the pastitsio again as I've craved it quite a few times since returning home. As for breakfast, Spoodles was our favorite table-service breakfast on property, and its replacement did not disappoint. My boyfriend had the Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast and it was sensational. Even though he dislikes sweet potatoes, he had to admit that the sweet potato hash was an inspired pairing with the other flavors on the plate. The winner by far was the artichoke spread, which was excellent with the poached eggs and with the rustic kalamata olive toast.

For me, the only fly in the ointment is that it's a noisy restaurant at dinnertime. The open kitchen is loud enough, but it seems that every time the din in the dining room starts to subside, the staff yell "Opa!" as if to get the party back on track, and the noise level picks up again.
