Hi! I have been lurking for a long time, but now that my trip is in 3 weeks I find myself needing some help from the experts!

My father in law is a travel agent and wants to book us on the Karmel shuttle for our transportation from LAX to the BWPPI. He says it cuts about 40 minutes off because it doesn't stop at each hotel and right now kids under 11 are free so both of mine would qualify.

Questions:

Anyone have experiences with them?
Is it user friendly, do they take a long time to show up?
Do I need a car seat for my 3 year old?

Thanks in advance, I have learned so much from this site and I a hooked on Disneyland now:cheer2:

We used Karmel shuttle this past December for 3 adults, 1 toddler.

They are user friendly, all you do is you get your luggage, find courtesy phone, call their number and they are there within I think it was about 3 minutes for us.

You do need your car seat because they do not supply them. I doubt I would trust someone else's car seat...but that is just me:laughing:

The Karmel shuttles are owned by the drivers so it is their responsiblity to maintain the van...the van we had was a bit older...but otherwise we weren't worried...except when our driver told us that one time when he had a fare on board another driver cut him off so he tossed a water bottle at him and struck the windshield of the other car and got pulled over and ticketed by the LAPD:scared1:

That was a little crazy of a story to share! :rotfl:

I found that the time etc was directly comparable with Supershuttle (the blue van) and overall I had no problem with either. I think Supershuttle is perhaps a little newer of a van...and I doubt the driver we had with the Supershuttle would have volunteered the whole "getting pulled over for tossing a water bottle at another driver road-rage" incident:rotfl2:

Makes a great story from our trip though! :thumbsup2

Good luck! Have a magical trip:wizard:

We used Karmel on the 14the from SNA to our hotel. The driver was nice and the ride good but the seat my son-in-law sat in was broken and would not lock in the upright position, he had to force himself upright for the whole ride. Our wait was about 10 min after we called the 800 number. My other concern was that the shuttles are un marked. Probably would not use them again, however if the vans are driver owned you could end up with another story all together. Also our rate booked on line was less for the regular rate than the "kids ride free"....that was strange also !!!

Cost us $40 each way for two adults and three kids from LAX to Hojo.

From LAX was super fast no problems what so ever. We were the only passengers.

Coming back our flights were at 11:00 am to Canada. They wanted to pick us up at 7:15...way too early, 9:00 am was ample to be at the airport. I had to jump though some hoops to get the pickup time changed; on the phone they told me they were only supposed to change it by 15 minute increments; they made an exception and changed it to 7:45. the pickup times were picked automatically as i input my information on their website. But there was a banner on their site advising that times could be adjusted though. But when they sent out the new confirmation the price had doubled on the return leg; I needed to phone again to have it resdjusted to $40.

We had paid for a shared ride; not so sure I would do that again. Our pick up was for 7:45 am we were there at 7:30 and so was our ride. We then drove to Grand California and proceeded to sit in the van for 15-20 minutes as the people we were scheduled to pick up were not due for pickup until 8:15-8:30. At 8:00 the front desk was willing to call up and let them know we were there. the long lag between the two pick up times was bit long; epsecially since I had originally asked for an 8:00 am pick up.

I think I would porbably use them again though as the price was cheap $80round trip would be hard to beat for 5 people.

Sorry, no experience with Karmel Shuttle....I read your post title wrong as "Karma Shuttle" :rotfl: I can think of a lot of people who need a ride on that one though :upsidedow
