LindaMy older sister
MichaelMy brother-in-law
RobMy 12 year old nephew
CatieMy 10 year old niece
We woke up early to take the monorail to Epcot. Michael went to grab Fast Passes for Test Track while the rest of us got in line to ride Mission: Space, which Michael decided to skip. Linda and the kids were a bit nervous about riding Mission: Space, but I assured them that they would love it, and they did.
We then went to the Universe of Energy. This is one of my least favorite attractions. I havent gone on it in years. I nearly fell asleep on the ride. We had a few minutes to kill before our Test Track Fast Pass return time, so we talked Michael into riding on Mission: Space, as the line was only about 15 minutes. Linda and the kids enjoyed their second trip to Mars. Michael, who doesnt like thrill rides, was undecided about how he felt about the ride, but he was glad that he didnt get sick.
We then went to ride on Test Track. The kids really liked it. I showed them a few hidden Mickeys in the line and on the ride, and they really enjoyed that. They wanted to ride it again, but the line was very long, and the Fast Pass return time wasnt until 8:00, and we werent planning on staying there that long. We went over to Jouney to Imagination, and rode the ride. The kids played in Imageworks for a while until hunger struck.
We had lunch at the Sunshine Food Fair, grabbing Fast Passes for the boat ride before getting our food. The kids got Mickey pasta, Linda got a baked potato, Michael got an Italian Sub, and I got a chicken caesar salad. My salad was a bit bland, and not very filling.
After lunch, we took the boat ride through the Land, and the watched the Circle of Life movie. We then went to ride on Spaceship Earth. When we got off the ride, the skies opened up into yet another torrential downpour/thunderstorm. We waited a while for the storm to slow down. Linda, Michael, and the kids decided to go to Downtown Disney. I didnt feel like going to Downtown Disney in the rain, and I had done my shopping the night before, so I went back to the Polynesian.
I wound up going to dinner at the Kona Café by myself, and had one of my best meals of the trip. I started off with sticky wings, which were very tasty and messy. I also had beef teriyaki with mashed potatoes. I really enjoyed the meal. I was too stuffed for dessert.
I went back to the room, but my family wasnt back yet. It was still raining, so I decided to take the monorail to the Grand Flordian and the Contemporary. The skies seemed to be clearing up, so I decided to go to the the Magic Kingdom for E-ticket night. I got to the Magic Kingdom about a half hour before E-ticket night was starting, so I decided to grab a Dole Whip. I had the best time walking around the Magic Kingdom during that half hour. I just enjoyed my Dole Whip, and splashed my way through puddles. I felt like I was six years old again.
I rode on Splash Mountain four times, Thunder Mountain three times, and Space Mountain once. I was starting to get tired, and my feet were hurting, so I decided to go back to the Polynesian with an hour left in E-ticket night. I still had to start packing my bags, as we had to check out of the Polynesian in the morning. Linda, Michael, and the kids were heading home on Wednesday, and I was heading to the Beach Club for the last three nights of my trip.
