Karen's 4th Annual DIS Jellyrolls meet--December 8, 2006

Smoking is allowed at Jellyrolls. It's the one thing I don't like about it.

I was concerned about the smoke too. I can't stand cigarette smoke and my DH really needs to stay away from second-hand smoke (doctor's orders) so if it's smoky in there my DH won't be able to join us.

If we have a large turnout for this meet and assuming a very high percentage of the DISers do not smoke, wouldn't the place be less smoky than usual? If we all get there right when they open for the evening and grab a bunch of tables in one area couldn't we create our own non-smoking area? or does the smoke from other parts of the bar tend to just fill up the place?

I'm allergic to smoke, and I've only had it bother me to the point where I needed to get fresh air once. But it's a relatively small room, and the smoke does tend to circulate a bit.

Smoke really bothers me also. At most 'smoking bars' I have to leave after an hour or two. I was really afraid I wouldn't be able to stay at JR very long. But, I was happy to find that the ventilation system they use is pretty effective. I didn't get very congested at all. I was there for quite awhile before I noticed anything. However, I did have to wash my clothes the next day!!

for the DISers that smoke, would they bring down those ashtrays that suck up the smoke???

We like the idea of bucket drinks & renting an extra hour at Jellyrolls, put us down for pitching some bucks in there!
Hey, we need to do early--I am long past the days of howling all night & strolling into work with only a change of scarf, different earrings & sunglasses!
I keep trying to get Chris to practice the 'Green Grass Grows all Around' dance, but he is darned elusive!

Now must curb the excitement with a wee bit of Dubonnet!

Does anybody know if Jellyrolls does gift certificates?

Also, if you all can help me get together some songs for my ipod that would be great! I'm preparing for the marathon next year (I'll do the 1/2 marathon atleast ) and one of my music categories is "Jellyrolls" (and each pianoman has his own subcategory) so when I'm running for 3-5 hours or so, then I can be at JR instead of being on the road. It can be fast or slow. You can either post them or pm me with the songs (and if you can the corresponding pianoman ).

Jason - His CD, Beth and Turn the Page
Mike - I've got some Beastie Boys on there
I need some songs that are "Scottie, Ray and Tommie" songs
(I've already got both of Scottie's cds )

I added the "Green Grass Grows all around" to my running tape. LOL you should see the people look at me when I'm on the treadmill and that song comes on

Karen gets there a full 24 hours before me so she'll get things jumping by the time I get there. Still waiting for Ray to post an updated JR schedule so we can make some plans...

Will hopefully get some good pics from EE and will post if I can figure out how - you know, a Mac in a PC-world. Donna (Pandy Paws) has ridden it and said it was great, even though she doesn't like roller coasters.
