I see its 38" but is 3 1/2 yo too young? I cant remember anything but getting wet, so please advise if he would be afraid. (not 100% sure he will even be 38" by then, will be close)
TIA.

DD was 3 1/2 when we went and 40". It was her first official ride at Disney. There are some bumps and jolts, but not really anything I would deem as scary...but that's just me. DD loved it...even the second time we rode and she got drenched! You could check out some utube videos (sure they have them) to see if there is anything too scary. You could also take him to see some of the rafts from the bridge to help ease any fears. HTH

Depends how he will feel about having a million gallons of ice cold water pouring on his head. Sometimes I don't get wet at all and other times I almost drown.

My 2 1/2 year old just went on it two weeks ago. He's just barely over 38" so they gave him a wristband and stamped Kali over it. He had to sit in the seat that had the bar in front of it. DH sat next to him and my older 3 boys all crowded together. I sat across from them and stayed dry, LOL. The first time the water came over the top of him from the back, he was shocked but he laughed and enjoyed it. He normally enjoys the pool and the tub, but doesn't like water getting dumped over his head, yet he was fine with this.

:thumbsup2 We took DS3 (just turned 3) on it and had the same experience as the quoted post. I'll be honest, he did get scared when the first gush of water hit him. I don't think he totally understood what was going on. :sad2: He probably won't be going on it next time. There are some rides he is tall enough to ride. But, I feel he just isn't ready mentally. So, he'll be waiting just a little bit longer to enjoy rides like BTMRR and ToT (I don't think I'd get him on an elevator after that one!;) ). I don't want to scare him now and then have him scarred for life. :hourglass There will be a time when he is able to ride everything. It's just not right now. :)

:goodvibes Jennifer

thanks, I will look at a video if I can, but maybe Ill send DH and DN and see what DH says after. I dont want to push him and scare him, ts not that big of a deal that he goes on it this time.

We just returned from the first trip for a 3 and 1/2 year old. He was scared of so many things, muppet 3-d, pirates of the carribean, aladdin's carpet ride. But he loved that Kali River Rapids. I think every child is different. I know ours was the only one screaming in the muppet 3-d movie and on pirates. :rotfl:

When we were there last April my dd was 3.5 and she was just tall enough. She had watched the boys go on a few things that she wasn't tall enough for and this was our last day so she was over the moon that she could go on and she loved it.

My son is now 2.5, and he is very large for his age. He went on it before he was 2, maybe 20 months or so. He loved it and cried hysterically when we couldn't go for a third time in a row. He loves getting cold water dumped over his head in the bath, though. It all depends on how your child reacts to water I think.

Our DGS was just 4 and a bit when we went 4 years ago and he loved it!!! The seating is in pairs (2 seats then an opening on either side) so who his seatmate is will probably be important. And don't forget a little reverse psychology .... having mom or dad whine "I don't want to get wet, I don't want to get wet" and then end up soaked will only add to the fun!!!!!!

My husband took my DD 3 1/2 on and she loved it so much that she HAD to go on again and loved it just as much the second time!! Every child is different though ~ so far DD has not been scared of any roller coasters, etc. She is more fearless than her mother.

My dd went Kali this past Sept (she is 4) she really liked it. Of course she got soaked, she has that kind of luck. She was kind of upset when it 1st happened, but then was fine when everyone was laughing.

I would like to add a side note that we live very close to a Six Flags and she has been exposed to this type of ride several times, so though it was her 1st time riding Kali not her 1st time riding this type of ride.

:rotfl2:

My DD was 6 when she went on, but she is the biggest scaredy cat ever. I don't even know how she ended up deciding to ride Kali, but she absolutely LOVED it. (Oh, and we almost drowned, we were so soaked!)

My almost 3 rode during December. It was bumpy and we didn't get very wet. It was also 82 degrees. She's 40" and was allowed on in the seat with the bar. I didn't think it was scary at all. She also rode Test Track and loved that. All kids are different.

DS rode for the first time in December at 3 1/2 and like another poster mentioned they did put the wristband on him and he sat in the seat with the bar. Dh sat next to him and when the 'big' drop came he just leaned over him so DS didn't get splashed as much. He was a little nervous on the drop but got a kick out of the water splashing him. After that first drop it's just a bit of rapids that are over pretty quick. Maybe just ride it yourself or have your SO ride it alone first to get a feel for whether your son would like it or not.

Every kid is different :)

I just looked on you tube and its not too wild. I was probably over thinking it, we have a boat and he has gone in the ocean, lol, although we dont usually get that wet. Ill prep him for the big water over his head(maybe all dump a bucket or two of icewater over him in the tub!J?K)

If you ask my kids (5 and 4), this is their favorite ride in all of the universe.

They love nothing more than to see about a thousand gallons of water dumping on top of Dad's head. :crazy2:
