interesting idea but how are they going to separate the single riders from the FP+ people - that will only work if the 2nd FP+ reader is working or someone has a handheld. I can see groups entering as "single riders" (like people often do on TT) and then magically 'forgetting" and riding as a group....
I like the single rider idea and I haven't witnessed any 'abuse' but DH (who rides TT alone) has seen it a lot - he doesn't let it stress him out but he has told me many times how difficult it is on the CMs when people get up to the front of the 'single rider' line and refuse to separate or become 'confused'.Our family has used single rider many times. The CM's are very strict about not letting groups ride together from the single rider lines, and I've never once witnessed a group being permitted to ride together if they were in the single rider line.
I don't think there will be anything to worry about. Adding single rider lines to more attractions is a fantastic idea in my opinion.
I'll have to wait and see on this one. I could see how the math might work against others in line. For example, the "boats" hold 8 people. Very few groups arrive with that number. And very few groups arrive with 7 people. So if a family of 5 takes the first 5 seats on a boat, will the CM ask whether there are any parties of two or three in line who can fill the boat as they do now, or will the CM just reflexively pull three people out of the single rider line? And if the CM does the latter, there is a decent chance that several of the "single" riders will actually be together, and hence be able to ride together as if they had a FP, all at the expense of an actual group of three who might otherwise be called up to the front. I don't mind filling a roller coaster with single riders where they always fill a literal "single seat", or at TT where the odd configuration of "three across" makes using single riders a good choice. But a vehicle that holds 8 people looks to me as if it can become the subject of abuse, unless the CMs really do use the line to fill the 8th and final seat of that boat. But I suspect that laziness and the path of least resistance will cause CMs to take two or three people out of the single rider line to fill boats with five or six people in the boat, and that would be great for the single riders, but a negative for the people who actually have a FP or waited in the SB line. Again, have to wait and see on this.I don't think there will be anything to worry about. Adding single rider lines to more attractions is a fantastic idea in my opinion.

Yes, you are correct. (I was confusing this with a similar ride near me). So my post above needs adjusting numerically, but the concept still holds. The boats only hold 12 riders at a time
That's where the "wait and see" comes in. A 12 person boat is not the same as a 6 person car at TT where the seating is 3 x 3. If they do as you suggest, then this will work out. If they start taking multiple people from the SR line and load them into the same boat, then "groups" will have beaten the system by getting to ride together by using the SR line. They will almost certainly still ask the standby line for parties of 2 or 3.
Yes, I've witnessed CM's having to deal with those situations too. But, never have they allowed the group to ride together. Always very strict about it, they split up, or they are welcome to re-enter the standby line.I like the single rider idea and I haven't witnessed any 'abuse' but DH (who rides TT alone) has seen it a lot - he doesn't let it stress him out but he has told me many times how difficult it is on the CMs when people get up to the front of the 'single rider' line and refuse to separate or become 'confused'.
