How is this ride as far as the scare factor? I can deal with rides like Dinosaur and BTMR. How big is the drop? My limit is the amount of drop in POTC and the ride in Norway, anything more will do me in! I know you get wet, and that is fine. I just don't want to lose my lunch or feel like my stomach is in my head.

If you can handle Dinosaur you can handle this ride. Drop is not bad-much less than Splash Mountain!

I don't think I would call it scary at all. But you WILL get wet!

I wouldn't even give Kali a scare factor. The one "drop" is much less than POTC. It is one of the best themed rapid rides I have ever seen. My son has been riding this since he was 3! This is the only ride he wants to do multiple times.

The drop is slightly thrilling for people who don't like those kinds of things. I took a friend on it who doesn't like coasters or dropping at all. I didn't tell him about it ahead of time. We went backwards over the falls!!!! The look on his face was priceless but he loved it.
The rest of the ride is the most mellow rapids ride I have ever been on....but it is pretty.

Really, to me, the only thrill to the drop is the knowledge/expectation that those with their backs to it will soon be as wet as if they'd dived into a lake with their clothes on. Seems to me from my trips on the ride that is what everyone is thinking about during the drop (either laughing or cringing depending on their seat location).

It's not scary at all, I think for most they are so busy looking at where they will be getting soaked. Trust me you will get wet, just depends on your luck how wet you'll get :lmao:

I am not a "thrill seeker" rider, and I would say that the fall is pretty equivalent the few you mentioned. I will do Splash Mountain and the drop in Kali River is very close to POTC or Maelstrom and no where near the drop of Splash Mountain.

Ride Chicken here....

I thought the Kali "drop" was very lame....

You do not get that dropping feeling at all....
POTC is a shorter drop.....but you feel it...

I really was dissapointed...kinda...I worked myself up to go on
only to realize that it was not scary at all.

Wet undies all day though:rolleyes1

DD (5) does not like coasters and would not even come close to trying Splash after seeing the big drop.....on the other hand, we rode Kali 3 times in a row at her request because she loved it so much. The drop isn't bad at all.

Kali has one of the best (if not THE best) themed waiting lines. It might be the only ride in WDW where the line is better than the ride.

The ride is not scary, unless you don't like getting wet. You WILL get soaked to the skin, not just wet. Many people make this their last ride of the day, or bring a change of clothes, since being that wet is simply uncomfortable.

The line for the ride is usually quite long (even the Fastpass line is 20 minutes), and the ride itself is very disappointingly short. There is a drop, but its made across rollers, not water. The drop is not a big deal...I would have rather had more rapids.

I wouldn't even give Kali a scare rating - not scary at all. The drop is just a small drop. No one in my family ever wants to sit by me on this ride because I am always the person who gets SOAKED! :rotfl2:

WOW! I didn't know my Nephew was a woman. :lmao:
Carl is always the person who gets the drowned seat when we go. I love Kali, but do try to sit as far from him as possible. This year we're bringing a waterproof camera for this ride.

I agree with the other posters, unless you're really sensative to boat ride motion/seasickness. Not everyone on the ride gets totally soaked, but most people get wet. Don't wear white, or denim. Do wear flip flops, crocs or the like (even if you bring them just for this ride). If you wear board shorts, you won't care so much about getting wet, as long as it's reasonably warm.

Not a bad ride at all, in fact if the kids didn't like it, I would skip it. Really kind of boring to me compared to other "rapids" rides that I have been on. The drop is the only really fun part about it.

So, less than POTC I can handle! I wouldn't even CONSIDER Splash mountain, because I can't handle the drops at all. Do you get soaked with a poncho on? I really don't like walking around in wet clothes, LOL

Marsha

Very tame, and lots of fun for all ages! Not scary in the least!

Remember....you don't have to get wet-just put on your Mickey poncho, and keep your feet up (we wear flip-flops) and you will come off dry and everyone else will be wet and wishing they had your poncho!!:cool1:

I am a chicken. I can ride BTMR and Splash Mountain though if not for dd wanting to ride them, I would happily skip them lol. She got me on Space Mountain and NEVER EVER AGAIN lol. But I thought Kali quite tame, in fact, a bit of a bore.

I love Kali. My only complaint is it's too short. But I never ride it without a poncho. I don't stay totally dry but I'm ok with how wet I get. I wear the poncho even when it's very hot, but I don't put it on til I'm just 2 or 3 groups from boarding. And you have to do it fast so you don't delay the boarding process.
