Kali River rapids- animal kingdom

Hey everyone!, i wondered if you could give me some advice?
It's my first trip to wdw later this year, and i'm taking my friend who is terrified of big rides . Someone who will not even go on big thuder mountain, and can just about tolerate pirates of the caribbean!!.lol. Anyway, i've been reading about the different rides ect, especially in Animal kingdom, and have been looking at Kali river rapids on you tube, as it looks brilliant!, but i think she will find it a bit scary!.lol, does it have lots of big waterfalls to go down, ect?

Any info would be great!

My Hubby and Kids loved it...LOVED it! They said it was not scary but they got very wet

Your friend probably won't enjoy Kali. There are a few big drops and the rafts tend to spin a bit so just when you think your in the right spot to not get drenched the thing turns you into the worst position possible.

ok great!, does it drop down quite high waterfalls ect?

There is one big drop and a couple of small ones. The big drop is not as long or as steep as the Splash Mtn drop. It is smooth. You are likely to get wet and you can get totally drenched.

My youngest DD who will not go on any of the Mountains loves KRR.

Your friend should enjoy Kali River Rapids as it is not scary at all. There is really only one main drop and it is about the height of the smallest one in POTC. Have a great time!!

Ahh ok, so the biggest drop are about the same as potc....i think i will tell her that!, thats a good idea!.hehe

I am someone who has and everytime I go on POC hang on for the "drop". Yes I am a wimp. However, 2 years ago I went on the rapids and loved it. I was really getting scared as it went on the slow moving ramp but it was a dip that leveled off. Maybe because it's a big tube I am not sure but that is the one ride I really enjoy and don't have a problem with. I think if your friend tries it he/she will be okay.

Honestly, I thought the ride was very tame and very short. Not a very good ride at all and skipped it the lat time we went to AK.

Me too. I was very disappointed. It is your typical river-raft ride, but has been slowed down so that you can see the great Disney artistry, and it is VERY short. I didn't care for it either and I am a ride junkie!

the ride is fun but as others have mentioned it's way too short-
the river raft ride at California Adventure is much, much better-

i don't really think that kali river rapids is too scary, my mom went on it and loved it and she does not do any of the mountain coasters. I think ur friend will be fine, and if you dont want to walk around all day being wet you can wear a poncho. We did that and some of the people on the ride looked at us like we were weird, but o well we just didn't want to walk around all day in wet clothes.

OK I admit it I'm a ride wimp. I go on POTC but I am always a little uneasy. Its fun though. My family loves Kali so I finally broke down and went on it once. The drop is MUCH bigger than they told me. I survived but I'm not sure if I would do it again.

I don't do rides...but I loved Kali River Rapids. We rode twice; first time got a little damp, second time got totally soaked and had to fall victim to the overpriced t-shirt stand strategically placed near the ride exit. Next time we will take our Mickey Rain Ponchos with us!

DD and I still laugh about how wet we got...the drops were not scary to me at all, probably because the raft is very good sized.
